I'm looking to start watching NFL

I just have a hard time watching the Titans for some reason. Just never enjoyed watching any of their games. It may be because they are in the NFL. I just don't think I can stomach rooting for another team that is going to experience decades of despair.

Basically I'm not necessarily wanting to be a bandwagon fan. I just would like to root for a team that will occasionally make the 2nd round of the playoffs and maybe a AFC/NFC championship here and there.

If you're not a Titans fan, I'd pick whatever NFC team you get locally as your "home" team on Fox. I'd assume that's either Carolina or Washington.

This might help.

Alright, so I don't watch NFL at all. I find it boring. The reason being is I do not have a team.

When I was young (15-20 years ago) I loved watching the Cowboys but who didn't? I can't get into the Titans.

I would like to find a team. What's the best way to go about this?

Yes, I'm at work and avoiding paperwork. Entertain me. :eek:lol:

I will concur that it is fun to be a fan of the home team. You get a lot more coverage and the games are always on.

It has made following the Cowboys and the Rangers a lot more fun.

Take Vader's advice. He used to be a Redskins fan.

Following a team outside of your own viewing area is a hard road.

It takes true passion and commitment to not get dragged into the local "hive" mentality.

Isn't that right, Vader?

I can agree with the previous post. Being forced to watch Tennessee vs. Jacksonville , while I can't watch Pittsburgh. Thank God for Redzone

Titans currently own the last playoff spot and Justin Hunter had the best game of his career this past week. Fitzpatrick is fun to root for.

I don't know if I'm alone here on my views of the Titans. I have always resented them moving to the state. I grew up with the Vols being the only show in the state and I have always felt that we have suffered, losing the spotlight and fans to The Titans.

I do resent them, but honestly I couldn't care less if they won or lost. Same way with the Grizz, matter of fact i hate the Grizz. I've been a fan of the same teams in the 3 major sports pretty much my whole life. For reasons I don't know I've always been a west coast guy. Though I did follow the Sonics to OKC.

Worst part about living in Mid Tenn having to watch like you said Titans vs Jags when my Colts are playing or when there is a game on between two teams with good records. Red Zone or a sports bar on Sundays

Pick a team close enough that you'd actually drive to see them without it being a hassle. If you're in East TN, you've got Titans, Bengal, Falcons, Panthers. Titans are consistently boring, but I still watch them. I call them my AFC team. Falcons have the worst fans in all pro sports. Please ask don't pick them.
Cincy and Charlotte are quick drives and passionate fan bases. Pick one of those if you're completely against the home-state team.
