I think the fact the "experts" bumped us up two spots in the AP poll to #10 despite the loss shows you are in fact no basketball expert.

They led the league in 3 point defense last season I think, but they didn't have a defender within 5 feet of a shooter behind the arc against Gonzaga.

What I saw last night was a UT team with brand new guards that had a lot of trouble figuring out a pretty good zone defense. They will get better, but of course so will everybody else.

LG, the final score was not really indicative of the game in the second half. It was tight at halftime, then the Zags ran out to about a 20 point lead before Tennessee made it respectable in the end. This early in the season with a young squad, losing to a quality team away from home is no disgrace, but make no mistake--the second half was a beating.

1. Gonzaga is very, very good, and they played well. They deserved to win. There were some bad calls, but they went both ways.

2. We will win the rematch at TBA. By double digits.

I don't see gonzaga going off from the three point line against us again. Hopefull our defense will have improved by the time we see them in january. We need to do a better job of contesting shots, its seems to be a reoccuring, disturbing trend.

Their zone bothered us, their size bothered us. The rematch won't be easy for us, although i like our chances at TBA.

I won't argue with you ONLY because you are one of a handful on here who's opinion is pretty valid 90% of the time. I think I was just ticked off when they played so well against Georgetown. I guess I wasn't being fair and set expectations too high. I blame Fulmer.

Gonzaga played the best there going to play ALL year.. mark it down.. they were shooting over 55% from everywhere..
they hit so many lucky shots where they would double pump fake and bank it in from an awkward angle.. i even remember where one guard did a scoop shot that went in when he wasn't even looking at the goal and it rolled in..
They were lucky as hell with some shots, and made alot of 3's.. I GUARANTEE that won't happen next time against us.. they just had the feel for that one night.

and we played no where near to our normal level of play

i can tell we have wayyy more talent than they do

we have drastically much more athletic ability, but I'm not sure about the talent level. They have better basketball skills than we do for sure.

Wow buddy come on take off the homer glasses... Wait college d-1 players made open 3's? amazing!!

We didn't play that well.. we got outrebounded pretty bad.. but i would expect that if you guys send 5 guys after a rebound,.. thats why we had like 4 breakaway dunks on the breakout.

We played the best we are going to play all year? in november? thats a joke man.. are you crazy?

You have more talent than the zags? How can you say that? you might start more athletic guys MAYBE.. obviously pargo is very athletic.. heytvelt has a big vertical jump very athletic kid.. goodson is athletic.. daye while not as athletic has better offensive skills than anyone on the court...

idk i think its a little lame you would say some of that stuff.. just accept the loss and be glad we get to see these 2 teams play again! don't need to make all the excuses and homer statements

Sure but i'm allowed to respond.. saying that the zags played their best game of the year 5 games in is dumb... the constant complaining about us shooting well from 3 is dumb... remember lofton? taste of your own medicine i suppose...

yeah, i give yall credit for this game.. but I was like CMON NOW to like 7-8 shots that i knew wouldn't go in 90% of the time..

you guys were just feelin it.

who is complaining about you shooting well from 3? I think we're just pointing that out. It's a significant statistic that helped you all break the game wide open. You shoot a more modest percentage, say 40%, and the game goes down to the wire.

Taste of our own medicine, indeed. We'll miss Lofton. You shot well! We're complimenting your boys on that! Yea!
