1. Pray for the people and their families.

2. Donate to the RED CROSS! They are setting up the shelters and feeding the people. Please! Don't donate to other charities...it's the Red Cross who is actually here and in MS and AL.

3. donate blood, but that is not so urgent. Just a good practice

Update!!!!!!!

Hey! I am somewhat back online. The hubby got a new laptop. His is floating somewhere in NO right now. I am in Shreveport, LA with family. (actually Coushatta, La.....COUNTRY!!!!) We will be here until his company hooks us up with an apartment. Then we will be trying to get a new job or transfer. Looks like Tennessee here I come!!!!!!!! I have been wanting to for a while, but just not this way. All the family is fine and everyone is accounted for. We lost everything. I got 6 foot of water in my house and I only had a single story so its all gone. I will be making my first trip down tomorrow to see it. I have seen pictures my husband took last week. I know the pictures did not do it justice. I will be gone till Sat and then hopefully back online. I have missed this computer!!!! Thanks for all your prayers!!!!!!!!!!

My husbands work will get us in a place soon but I am not staying there but for a few months at the most. He is wanting a transfer but I dont know if they will be able to put us where we want. He might have to find a new job. Then we have to wait for the insurance money and try to sell the lot and shell of my house to pay it off. I made claims but have not heard back from any of them. There is no telling how long that will take.

We were on Balsam Mountain in NC when we heard it was headed to New Orleans. We tried to make it home before to get some things out of the house but they started evacuations before we ever made it out of North Alabama so we just stayed in Birmingham. We had reservations already there for that night. We just had to extend them for 7 more nights.....................luckily his compay paid!!!!!!! I havent been home since Aug. 19th!!!!!

Yea, they are pretty good. They are still paying all employees, finding us housing and relocating alot of their employees. No one will loose their jobs.
