I'm proud of Marlin Lane

If they hired him back tomorrow these same fools would think he was a god...

They never had a problem with him, even worshipped him, until he decided to leave their beloved UT. How dare he?

Bunch of idiots

People are idiots because they do not like someone who ran out on us "literally" in the middle of the night? Set the program back an additional couple years at least?

Basically the man took millions of dollars from the university and then took a huge dump right on top of it. Then on top of this tried to illegally steal EE's by calling them from the plane to say... Don't go to class tomorrow

Your the idiot if you think for one second the man deserves anything other then a fist to his jaw

Piano, it's not that LK left that madden so many Vols fans. It's how he left that rubs them the wrong way. However, since he's gone (not to mention karma took a bite out of him), he's gone and should be allowed to stay gone, so get over it. So if idiot fever is claimed, that's what makes it true unfortunately.

He's the same piece of trash who took a shot at Meghan Simmons in another thread. I would take his histrionics with a grain of salt.

Really like M Lane. He always reminded me of Marshall Faulk. Diverse, solid hands, strong runner. He gets his chance to shine

NOW playing with a cast and "being a senior leader" per many articles...

he seemed to be on the verge of ending his career as a vol last spring...

His turnaround has been spectacular and much needed for a team short on upper class leadership...

Here's to him having a great year... and then hopefully to the NFL!

Good post Wook.

Expecting a big year from Lane.

Here's what I think. Lane knows Hurd is the real deal. He wants his PT. He knows this is his last shot at being drafted well by the pros. The effort he puts into the first game is actually going to force the coaches to let the Vols pay the game as a running team. The fish gets most carries but the thundering herd will get plenty as well. It will be one-two punches all the way. What passes are thrown will be mostly to appease our gifted WRs so they don't feel so left out. I was seeing this game as basically a hard fought Vols win. But now I think if the defense holds up at all, we will just be slam bamming the hooved beefsteaks into hamburger patties.

That likely exactly explains Lane's new-found work ethic.

However, even great backs need an offensive line that get's it done. Not saying we don't have some talented guys there but, 1) They are short on experience and 2) The depth of quality guys is alarmingly thin, imo.

If they can avoid injuries we might have a decent line by the end of the year, but in the meantime I think we are going to see a balanced attack that favors the pass and that we will need our most mobile quarterback in there to run it (I like Dobbs a lot, Worley too, because of his experience, but Ferguson seems to excel at passing on the run and that's what we are going to need if opposing coaches dial up a lot of blitzes to test the pass protection of our young line, as I suspect they are going to do).

“I always say, if there is nothing broken in my legs to stop me from running then I’m going to keep playing and I can run the ball with the right hand no matter if I’m going right or left,” Lane said. “I still use it, it doesn’t bother me at all. I’ve had injuries worse than this and played through it so I thought there was no way this was going to stop me from playing.”

now thats what im talkin about:D

People really do need to stop obsessing over CLK. Water under the bridge. It's not the OP's fault that so many automatically think of that DB when seeing "Lane" instead of our starting RB.
