And didn't Jones himself say that Dooley did a good job of getting the program stabilized? And was there not a general consensus here that if Dooley doesn't make it, he will at least have the pantry stocked up for the next guy? What happened to that? If you need to give a coach three years to "get his players in here," then should they not rightly have another three years after that to coach them?

It's people like this I wish would just keep there mouth shut and stay off the radio and message boards and facebook and so on. I can't wait till year 3 when we are SEC champions and I can say no you can't get on the bandwagon now.

Realistically, bUTch will need 5 seasons before we can consistintely get winning seasons.

I know that 2014 will not be a good season and that our first winning season under bUTch will be 2015. I am taking each game, win or lose, as a "brick by brick" process.

This season, we have inexperienced receivers. Would have been nice if Arnett had stayed!!!!

This season, we don't have an experienced q.b.

Palardy is playing better! Young defensive backs are playing good!


Next season, we have a great kicker coming in. The receivers will have a full season under their belts. (Where is Paul Harris?)

Next season, the q.b. situation will be figured out. The spring game and pre season practices in the summer will figure the .q.b. situation out.

However; next season, we have a new offensive line and a new defensive line.

So, 2014, I don't expect many wins.

However; in 2015, the q.b. will be situated. Hurd & Paulk will be sophomores. North, Harris, Johnson, etc. will be juniors. O-line will have a full year of experience behind them. The D-line will have a full year of experience behind them. There will have been 3 recruiting classes on campus and all of them will be raised on bUTch's system. They won't have to 'Unlearn' Dooley's bad habits.

2015 is the season that we break out!!!! Be patient!!

Think our incredible lack of speed has more to do with taking bad angles, especially when playing the last 2 teams. I think our guys arent adjusting their angles because they physically cant. Their superior athletes are outrunning our players' angles because we're so incredibly slow in the secondary. Jmo.

I think TN is the first coaching job Butch has where he did not follow after Chip Kelly....compared to those other coaching positions, this one (following PF/LK/DD), looks to be a real challenge. And it ain't getting fixed this year or next year for that matter.

BJ will find out if he can coach during his time at TN, that is a fact.

I hate to break it to you but yes 6-6 would be miraculous considering our talent level, new coaching staff, the past 3 years results and most importantly the difficulty of our schedule.

I've been saying that we have to give Butch time to recruit the players he wants to run his system. Its going to take atleast 3 recruiting classes to get to where we are ready to climb out of the cellar and start competing for the top spot in the sec east. GO VOLS!

I'm not sure a hall of fame coach could make up for the lack of overall speed and talent of this team right now. Just is what it is. But at the very least, we can all see that reinforcements are on the way with some talented players. Season isn't over yet either. I'll keep cheering for this team regardless.

So far it's unfair to compare Butch to Dooley who put together one of the better offenses in UT history last year (and had real OC coordinator). Of course Dooley also fielded the worst defense in the history of all of football. Unfortunately so far Butch and the best bearcat staff in America have been able to easily match Dooley's accomplishments on the defensive side of the ball but it's highly doubtful they will match Dooley's accomplishments on the offensive side of the ball any time soon if ever (because it's doubtful the bearcat spread offense has a prayer of ever working vs SEC elite defenses).
I would love to be proven wrong but I'm not holding my breath waiting for that to happen.
