I'm so sick of prevent offense

It was a good call. Any ref worth a damn will call that foul 10 outta 10. He was clearly set and Fulk made forcible enough contact.

Refs just flat out suck. Did we really need a 3 minute stoppage at 0:46 to determine whether to put a second back on the clock or not?

I have to agree, mostly. The USCe player sold it with a bit of a flop, but contact was made and Fulk seemed to extend his left arm enough on his spin move to give the baseline official enough cause to make that call for the home team.

In short, if that was Fulk on the other end of that play as the defender, most of us would be screaming for a charge to be called.

I didn't mind so much the bad ending as I did the usual inconsistencies by the refs. I don't see how Fulk gets hit every time he touches the ball and somehow he manages to brush the defenders and he's charging. Refs just flat out suck in every game. For both teams.

I think that possession was supposed to be ran through Vescovi, but SC did a good job denying the pass from Bowden.
Instead, we froze up and dribbled until we had to scramble late in the possession.

I think Vescovi was open momentarily for the inbounds pass. When the inbounder didn't get it to him then, that is what set us up for failure. I don't remember who it was, but he got a tongue lashing by Barnes.

Barnes was out coached tonight for sure. He really lost this game by not recruiting 2 consecutive years though

Frank Martin isn’t that good of a coach.

He just happened to catch Tennessee on a down year.

Barnes wasn’t out coached in anything.

If there’s blame to be given, Bowden shouldn’t have been passive and stepped up when the team needed him the most.

Martin has a Final 4 on his resume at SC so I can’t agree with “ he’s not that g of a coach”. I do agree that Bowden basically dribbled our chances away at the end. However, that’s what a coach is for. Barnes stood on the sidelines and watched him do it.

Yeah, this one was actually bad. We probably should have continued to run the offense through Fulk, and Bowden as a senior ballhandler has to have a backup plan when Vescovi can’t get the ball.

Barnes did not do well with like the last 4 minutes of offense

Additionally feel like he should have told his guys to fall down. It became obvious that it was all the refs were looking for on blocks/charges. Ain’t no way they would have called a flop. ON gave up like 4 points just by not flopping against Kotsar

Yep coaches should be aware (between) these Refs have been calling flops this year and/or these refs are not calling flops. So tell the players defend accordingly.
Its sad you have to adjust your D per different ref crews.

One thing I thought about this morning, was that when the ball was inbounded to Bowden, it was thrown way into the backcourt to avoid any sort of legitimate challenge by USCe. Vescovi could have come to Bowden on the USCe side of the floor to get the ball, and it would have been interesting to see if his defender would have followed him all the way into the backcourt.

Instead, Vescovi stayed on the wing and Bowden crossed the timeline. Perhaps a rookie mistake by SV to not go to the ball prior to Bowden bringing it up.

Good point. Another option would've been to just dribble to the wing and either "replace" Vescovi, or hand the ball off to him and set a screen at the same time.

Either way, about any option other than what actually happened would've been better.

Either way, something has affected Bowden’s confidence as a shooter.

This is one of the strangest downfalls I’ve ever seen from a Tennessee player.

The offensive foul on Plavsic early in the game was very weak, too. Everyone here says Plavsic isn’t strong yet the USC defender immediately went down on his move.

We were called for two flops against Cincy, and the Pons one was absolutely horrible. No one can reconcile those inconsistencies. It’s ruining the game.

ok. So Barnes has other deficiencies. thanks for pointing that out.

You love to point out anything about Barnes. That’s what you do. Probably should go root for the midmajor coach that gets paid $500k. It would make you feel better.

If that was not a flop, that guy must fall down every time someone brushes against him while walking to class, or crossing the street...He sold it, and the refs bought it. Just the way it is.

And you, like so many others here, having nothing better to do than take personal shots, which is really pathetic.

I think I’ll cheer for UT and be critical of whatever I want. Since I was born while my parents were students there; I graduated there, and my daughter is currently a student there. I don’t need your blessing or permission. I feel just fine thank you very much.

No, Plavisc literally lowered his shoulder and drive it right into the guy. It was as obvious an offensive foul as you’ll find. The one on Fulks spin move, no way.

You can dish it but you can’t take it. I’ve never taken a personal shot- never called you a name, etc. You just have trouble with people disagreeing with you.

Oh, and there was enough contact for the USC guy to immediately fall down? Absolutely not. That’s the definition of a flop. He sold the contact.

It looked pretty clear to me. Sorry we don’t agree. I’m OK with that.
