Bob Stoops resume is undeniably Better than Butch Jones. That cannot be argued.

However....

Since winning the NC in 2000 OU has been the most consistently overrated team in the NCAA (right up there with tOSU). Sure they have a lot of BCS bowl appearances but how many wins? There was an 0-5 stretch that finally broke when they got an easy match up (akin to FSU/NIU). It's a lot easier to win conference titles when there is only one legit challenger in the conference and they play in your division. Beat them and you've basically won the conference and are off to a BCS bowl. Their NC appearances have been mostly embarrassing since then too, showing they shouldn't even have been there (2003 should have been LSU vs USC and 2004 should have been Auburn vs USC).

If Bob Stoops were here people would quickly get spoiled and complain ad nauseam about every game he choked away just like they did Fulmer.

Amen!!!!!! success in the big 12 isn't the same as SEC. Texas is really their only legit competition every year. let's not kid ourselves. Remember A&M didn't hesitate to bail for better competition/money and more importantly relevance..........

Or the fact that he didn't want to leave OU for a rebuilding job at UT for any amount of money. I find it funny that people think you can throw N amount of dollars at any coach and their yours. OU could pay whatever we could if not more and assuming he is loyal he would stay at OU regardless. All this "commitment to winning" garbage is just that, garbage. UT's admin wants to win as much as any other schools. You and the other just chose to ***** about it because you need someone to blame because your golden boy Gruden didn't want to come.
