Andy Reid just named Mike Vick the starter in Philly, I could have sworn Kolb would be back once healthy. What are your thoughts on Vick returning to the starting role?

Wish the Titans would have made a move on Vick. Philly looking really smart right now. Only 2 weeks in though.

Regarding the OP, Yes very surprised. Thought they would play Kolb. Wasn't he the entire reason Philly gave for trading McNabb?

Yeah Kolb was the reason they they traded him, still he played a struggling Green Bay team week one and the Detroit Lions week two. I'd still hold my breath on him.

I wouldn't say Green Bay is struggling, they just weren't prepared for Vick full throttle. He's definitely tough to gameplan for the week before, let alone midway through the first quarter.

I still have nightmares of Vick tearing up the Panthers back in the day.

On a side note, that's great news for my fantasy team.

Vick has been solid in the time he has had. He deserves it. He is a starter on lots of teams.

I thought it was officially announced yesterday Kolb would start? Oh well, despite my hate for Vick I'll give him credit for being a force this brief season.

Definitely surprised, but I am good with whoever gives us the best chance to win. Just looks like Vick at thus point, he has been great and has helped open things up for McCoy.

So..... do I start him over Favre?

I DONT KNOW!!!! :cray:

He was so good to me last week and Favre hasn't done anything. I think it's Vick again this week. I hadn't heard he was named the starter. Seems Reid is a little wishy washy. He must know he would start a riot in Philly putting Kolb back in.

Until Farve gets someone other than Shiancoe to throw to, I would start pretty much anyone over him fantasy wise. If Reid had stayed committed to starting Kolb over Vick, there would not be a riot of any sort in Philly. It is pretty much split 40/60 between the two giving an edge to Vick. I am glad they are going with Vick right now, but he will have to play consistantly for more than a couple of weeks to make me a believer that he should remain the starter. JMO

I've never been sold on Kolb. Vick has been impressive, but I thought they would at least let Kolb see a little more action before deciding for sure one way or the other.

Vick is a better athlete and QB than Kevin Kolb. I'm not surprised at all.

I'm not a big fan of someone losing their job b/c of an injury, but oh well. Reid should have just came out an said Vick was the guy out of camp.

Gotta love Andy Reid: "Well Kevin, I traded away Donovan and made you the savior of the city. Sadly you sucked for one half against a SB contending team, Vick played great against the Lions, and you're done. Good job champ."

No and no.

I would stop cheering for the Titans and the Eagles have now proven that they don't care about crime as long as they win a GAME.

Dogs > Michael Vick.

I wouldn't say this about 99% of the world's population but I wouldn't care if Vick died. Might even laugh.

He also knowingly gave a girl herpes.

Dude is a class act.

He has paid his debt to society and a high one at that. Not sure why you think people dont deserve a second chance. I am a huge dog lover and have three who are basically our children. What he did was awful but, like I said, he has paid his debt, has he not?

If I were arrested, I would not be given my job back to make a 6 figure salary.

Most people arrested are lucky if they can even find a job that pays 50k a year.

Like I said, I could care less if the guy died. Those dogs won't get their lives back. Not to mention the psychopath admitted to smashing one against the pavement and hosing the other one with water to electrocute it.

I'll never think he deserved a second chance to make a crap load of money to play a game.

Playing in front of 70,000 people with 200 million dollars worth of endorsements wasn't enough excitement for him. So he abused animals to gamble. Animals we've bread and domesticated to depend on us.

It's your choice if you want to be okay with his actions but the guy has shown a history of being a p.o.s.

1. Paid a girl off after knowingly giving her herpes.
2. Took marijuana residue on airplane.
3. Funded illegal gambling.
4. Abused and murdered dogs.
5. Had a party where a witness got shot.

How many second chances does he deserve?
His second chance should be getting out of jail and working a $20,000 factory job. Not being paid a million dollars to throw a football.

Never said I was ok with his actions, but he has paid his debt according to the law. If you want to hold you little hate crusade, it is certainly your right. My opinion has absolutely nothing to do with him playing for Philly, I have said the same thing about him the day he was released. But I am sure that will be your reasoning behind me not agreeing to fry a guy for the rest of his life even after he has served his time.

We're probably just going to disagree.

I don't know if your name implies you're a Cincy fan but I also wanted Lance Stephenson kicked off the Pacers after it was said he pushed his girlfriend down the stairs and went back down to smack her head against them again.

Honestly, I do think that's why you're defending him.

Just because you go to jail doesn't mean you should have the luxury of getting your old job back with the NFL.

Mary Kay Laterno(sp?) didn't get to return to teaching.

Arrested drug dealers don't get to go be pharmacists.

Michael Vick shouldn't get to go play football.

That's my opinion and nothing will change it. The guy is a p.o.s.

No, simply a name given to me while in the military
