Conflating racism and slavery doesn't work out so well. Lynchings were going on in this country into 1960s. Jim crow, and institutional racism were all prominent in the 20th century. Saying that the people who suffered through this should just "get over it" is extremely callous if nothing else. Evil action demands atonement.
Lynchings were no longer prevalent after the 1930s. The only ones that come to mind after that time were the few that occurred in Mississippi during the 1960s. Jim Crow was practically eviscerated after the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and subsequent Supreme Court decisions, so yes it was prominent in the first six decades is far more accurate than claiming it was a feature of the entire century because it was not.
Not quite sure what you mean about saying people who suffered through "this" should just get over it, but the people who actually "suffered" are like WWII vets, there are not that many any more and the number is rapidly declining by the day. I said that because most of the ones on TV screaming how bad they have do not know their rear-ends from holes in the ground about it. They seem to be regurgitating propaganda they have been indoctrinated with.
And lastly, what do you mean by that last statement? Can you give an example that should be taken to atone for Evil action?
