WOW. I've been tinkering with it, and it's tough. Here are the main 12 guys and my best guess at minutes (so far!). How would you divide them up?

Not sure how to carve the minutes. But, last year I wished Barnes had released the freshmen earlier and more often. That team had no natural leaders outside the 2 star rookies. We may have lost more earlier, but by tourney time those two would have been the driving force of the team and giving us a better chance at a run. The rookies were our stars, but Barnes played theme like they were gonna be here 3 years, and develop.
We're gonna face the same culture problem again this year unless a newcomer steps in to lead with some passion and accountability.

Yep! I'm sorely tempted to give BHH more minutes, but figured CRB will slow roll him as well. If Aidoo, Nkamhoua, and Plavsic give us very little and Tamba redshirts as planned, then BHH's minutes will almost have to go up.

Here's my uneducated guess at it

#. Minutes
0. 2
1. 35
2. 22
3. 10
5. 25
10. 35
12. 10
13. 7
15. 2
24. 30
25. 20
33. 2
------------
200?

I also think (hope not) Powell is going to be a role player only. He scored 26 against Memphis and South Bama.....other games were meh. (7 pts against Zags) (7 turnovers and 4pts against Ark).

10 games is a small sample size to make a strong opinion on, either way. Suffice to say, being thrust into the starting PG role immediately as a freshman and performing the way he did in his better games is encouraging. He definitely didn’t look out of place. No one expects him to come in and be All-SEC, so by that definition, I’d agree; role player (broad term). But, I think he is much more Lamonte Turner than he is Skyler McBee in terms of talent and role.

If he’s 80% of LT then I will consider us very fortunate to have him on our team!

TN started last season 7-0 and 10-1. Winning games is the first priority. Also, both were averaging well into double digit minutes out of the gate. Springer was averaging over 20 mpg until he was injured in the Bama game (including just 9 minutes in the opener). When Springer was injured after just 5 minutes against Bama, Keon stepped up to 30 minutes that game and TN played pretty poorly that day.

Some posters and the **** stirring radio guy push the narrative that Barnes wears down his teams by March. So maybe pacing the freshman slightly is a valid approach.

I'll go with:

Aidoo- 12
BHH- 20
Fulky- 25
Nkamhoua-8

This should be a contest!

I’m thinking more like Mashack and Bailey initially splitting about 30-35 minutes equally with Madhack’s minutes growing as the season rolls on.

So, u all are thinking Mashack averages around 17-20 minutes, at a position that UT is loaded at ? I thought I was the guy that predicted unrealistic playing time and production from freshmen. U better get 'em bTo, because that's a Dog level, overly optimistic prediction

Whoever plays defense at a high level and catches the dishes from KC without fumbling the ball and can convert will get minutes. Those too small or slow to defend or make bad decisions won’t play much.

So, Bailey, Vescovi and Powell are too small or slow to defend or make bad decisions compared to a freshman that is believed to be a potential great defender, but lacking offensively, right now ? Gotta disagree with u on this one, TGO, but it's not personal

I guess that means Handje Tamba will redshirt > 1 minute per game? Okay, I get it he is not listed on the roster.
I say you still should have included him!
Barnes Trends:
Wants to keep players under 30 minutes per game!

In fact, I cannot imagine anyone playing 30 minutes per game! No one averaged 30 minutes per game last year!
No way Fulkerson or Chandler averages playing 30 minutes per game during the season. Unless,... the injury bug bites us. I read somewhere
Defense earns you playing minutes!
Chandler filled up a page of how Barnes was chewing him out. Tamba is going to be the furthest behind.
If Chandler was talking about how physical it is ... you can bet Tamba and QD and Uros have got their work cut out for them.
Barnes wants an 'eraser' on the floor. (Typically, that is the 4.)
Here's to hoping Aidoo and BHH fill the bill.
Barnes 'says' he wants to play a lot of players, but typically that is 7 or 8 ... NOT 9 or 10.
I get that we want continuity and flow. AND we want the best players on the floor. But players get hurt when they are tired.
But coaches need to develop players for next year. Coaches need to give players an opportunity to rest and not be bone weary by seasons end.
Vescovi (26), Chandler (22) and Powell (22) and split the point guard minutes.
Fulkerson (28), Olivier (14), UROS (8) at the 5
Aidoo (12), BHH (12) and Tamba (2) at the 4
Bailey (20), Vescovi and Powell at the 2
JJJ (26), Jahmai (10) and QD (4) and at the 3

I think that Madhack might already be more physical. I wasn’t too impressed with some of Bailey’s decision making. I doubt that Madhack will be averaging 2 minutes per game.
