Imagine the delightful problem trying to figure minutes with this roster!

I think that Madhack might already be more physical. I wasn’t too impressed with some of Bailey’s decision making. I doubt that Madhack will be averaging 2 minutes per game.
Me either and I have never posted that, I love Mashack(winner), just needs a year to improve his game on the offensive side, imo

Not sure how to carve the minutes. But, last year I wished Barnes had released the freshmen earlier and more often. That team had no natural leaders outside the 2 star rookies. We may have lost more earlier, but by tourney time those two would have been the driving force of the team and giving us a better chance at a run. The rookies were our stars, but Barnes played theme like they were gonna be here 3 years, and develop.
We're gonna face the same culture problem again this year unless a newcomer steps in to lead with some passion and accountability.
Yep, agree with above. We have had two years in a row when we had to re-invent ourselves during the year. Last year was bizarre and we never had an identity particularly on offense. Hopefully Fulkerson is healthy and feels less stress to carry us offensively and we give the younger players the green light from game 1.

If Nkamhoua is getting 10 minutes, we're either really bad or we're up by 30 with 10 to go.
Hes not going to become Grant Williams, but hes got the tools. I think his biggest weakness are scoring and basketball IQ. Both will be better over time but especially the IQ. He's good for those 10 minutes.

Well Barnes definitely won’t go 12 deep against quality teams, maybe against cupcakes…I would say against the Big 7 OOC teams and SEC slate it will be something like…

Chandler 30
James 28
Fulky 28
BHH 25
Vescovi 22
Powell 22
Bailey 18
ORN 15
Aidoo 12
Similar to how I see it. Primary question will be, when you really need a bucket, who will Barnes give the ball too. We still need “that guy”. No assumptions until we see them on the floor. Maybe with a true PG Barnes will let them push tempo more which he always seems to promise every pre-season.

I'm really hoping Victor Bailey is able to be more consistent this year and is getting starting minutes. He has a great shop and can be good taking it to the rim, but mentally defeats himself or tries to do too much when it isn't necessary. All the talent, but it's between the ears with him

So, u all are thinking Mashack averages around 17-20 minutes, at a position that UT is loaded at ? I thought I was the guy that predicted unrealistic playing time and production from freshmen. U better get 'em bTo, because that's a Dog level, overly optimistic prediction
So when someone pats themselves on the back for a prediction come true it is officially a “Bruin”. Are we officially declaring an over the top prediction as a “Dog”?

Sounds good to me, I can live forever on VN. Did I just make a "Dog" ? Predicting a "Dog" will live forever on VN, when it will probably be forgotten in a week.

Edit: now that I think about it, that's probably a "D4H", but it can be a "Dog" in the basketball forum

We started playing worse when Keon moved into the starting lineup

I hope so too. But, he's been playing collegiately for like 4 or 5 years now. Hard to see much upside from what we had last year

It just never seemed to gel.properly. Honestly, we just don't have a lot of offense with the vets. Fulkerson went into a funk. Health? The 2 Freshmen were the only other 2 who could create their own shot really. I hope we have a better mix this year that gels properly by year end.

We didn't have a true PG last season. Keon couldn't fix that by himself. No one else could either. That's why we didn't gel.

Has anyone heard how is Deboundje doing so far? I thought he had a great defensive game, and that might give him instant playing time on a Barnes coached team.

Exceeded expectations, thus far, is what I've seen. Ahead of where they thought he'd be.

I don’t know how much time he’s going to get this year but I’m really excited about Quentin Diboundje. Love his game and I think he’s going to be a steal that we look back and can’t believe he was a 3 star.

Him and Mashack are the types you build championships around in 2-4 years

No PG turned out to be a big problem. Using half the shot clock just to get past the full court pressure and getting the offense initiated wasn’t producing good results. Keon and Jaden were able to attack on offense… they would have been even more effective with a Chandler or a Bone running the O. Vescovi could have been 100% focused on roaming the wings trying to get open instead of having to worry about being part of the PG by committee responsibility.

Absolutely, thumbs up. We'll see the diff this year with KC as QB and SV roaming the perimeter hunting his shot, and that goes for Bailey and Powell, too. I can't wait for the season to start.

I’m still not sure what the plan is if Chandler sprains a knee or ankle and has to sit for a few games. Perhaps JJJ has been working hard at developing his PG skills. He would be less effective as an offensive rebounder though. Vescovi, Bailey, or Powell would be a huge drop off from KC. JJJ could create matchup issues for opponents.
