and the exact same offensive and defensive play calls, but instead our roster is filled with talent equal to Alabama's players, or Georgia's players, or Missouri's players, or hell even Ole Miss' players, what the outcome would have been. Then tell me again how this loss is all due to poor coaching.

I agree for the most part. Our coaches have seen that Dobbs can't throw the ball 20 yards+ with any accuracy. When you try to play not to lose, it usually bites you in the butt. Players didn't execute plays.

THIS LOSS IS ALL DUE TO POOR COACHING, feel better

C'mon dude.

The weakness of vandy was the secondary. And we did nothing, LITERALLY NOTHING, to attack their biggest weakness

Third string true freshman QB, best receiver hurt and on the bench, drops by J. Smith, P. Howard, others. What do you attack with?

You are foolish. Coaching has to do what you have and we have nothing in terms of talent. If we had Alabamas roster, I imagine we would not have this gameplan we had tonight.

I agree but for now we have to lick our wounds.

Exactly...

Great players make great coaches. Nick S. couldn't win with these players...

Give Butch a couple of HIS recruiting classes, then we can make judgement on his coaching ability. It was obvious they took the game away from Dobbs, he wasn't going to loose it nor win it. Total lack of confidence from the coaches, and we all seen why.

Because good coaches, even with average players, beat other teams with average players... especially when their entire starting secondary is missing.

Or imagine we had Vandy's players, would we have won? Your argument has no weight. TN HAS more talent than Vandy sooo that would mean???? Good grief, they gave us the game time and time again.

We can't beat Vandy with 4 turnovers??? Really??? Butch sucks.

You still have to throw deep sometimes to keep the lbs and corners honest otherwise they are crowding the box and the run is not working. If they know we wont throw deep then they have the upperhand. Sometimes an incomplete deep post is better than a 2 yard screen. Plus if they are jumping everything underneath how about someone making a double move off a pump fake then hit something deep. JMHO

We were running pretty good against them. It's when we try to "exploit" their weakness that we failed. Dobbs did nothing but lose yArds when he went to the air until the desperation drive. They needed a QB change even if was the beast

Bull, weren't we favored meaning we should have won?

Great coaches will come up with a game plan to put their players in the best position to win. They will game plan to play to their teams strengths.

The Best Staff in America, decided to have a kicker throw a pass on 4th and 19. And on the next offensive series, when we needed a score, decided to punt it on 4th and 2 with under five minutes to play. Then Vandy drove the ball for 90+ yards and a TD.

When's the last time you saw one of those schools coaches call a fake punt that is designed to have the punter, yes the punter, throw across his body 30+ yards downfield. Whatever genius designed that doesn't deserve a coaching job.

If Dobbs is our future QB, we are going to have to get someone to throw the ball for him in the future. I've never seen a third grader with such bad aim and throwing judgement.

Not foolish, realistic. Look, this game was like a donkey race, and no matter how much you beat your donkey, he can only go so fast. Sometimes, he will not respond to the beating and will simply sit down. Eventually, we'll have a racehorse and Vandy will still be racing a donkey.

We had great field position and turnover margin in our favor. Vandy lost the ball in red zone what twice?
They out performed us and we couldn't capitalize on their mistakes.
Yes we lacked execution, but we had two weeks to prepare for that.
If you have weeknesses ( like a. Qb you are afraid to let throw) use the two weeks to design plays and schemes that cater to the players' attributes.
Add the decimation of the secondary and .... I'm sorry but this is on the coordinators!
