Imagine the exact same game plan

and the exact same offensive and defensive play calls, but instead our roster is filled with talent equal to Alabama's players, or Georgia's players, or Missouri's players, or hell even Ole Miss' players, what the outcome would have been. Then tell me again how this loss is all due to poor coaching.

The thing you seem to be missing is that the current players we have are better than vandys.

None of the coaches of those teams would have played not to lose with UT's roster tonight.

This was ALL... ALLLLLL... due to poor coaching and a HORRIBLE gameplan.

Not foolish, realistic. Look, this game was like a donkey race, and no matter how much you beat your donkey, he can only go so fast. Sometimes, he will not respond to the beating and will simply sit down. Eventually, we'll have a racehorse and Vandy will still be racing a donkey.

Yeah. Sort of. Vandy had a Donkey. UT had a horse. UT ran its horse like a Donkey... then at the end the Donkey was a better Donkey than the horse was.

The gameplan was STUPID.

There was a game plan?

I think some of you guys are failing to understand one key thing: Butch and the rest of the coaching staff sucked in this game. I honestly don't see how anyone could say otherwise at the moment. But that doesn't mean they are going to suck in every game. Coaches, just like anybody else, can learn from their mistakes and overcome them. Remember the old saying of " we learn from failure much more than success," well I feel like it's hard to to put coaches in a different bracket. Basically, they are human beings and now, after the loss, is the time that we should really judge them. Can they learn from this and get it right? Now after all of that positive stuff I just spewed out, I'm still pissed the @#$^ off. This game was an absolute nightmare.

A lot of coaching decisions look bad when the talent isn't there to execute.

So you are really convinced that UT has no receivers who can get open and catch if properly coached and that Dobbs cannot throw a completion... in spite of throwing the ball reasonably well in the last 2 games?

There was plenty enough talent to beat Vandy. The GAMEPLAN did not employ it.

Actually a great analogy.

I haven't had time to digest fully what I saw tonight, but I am concerned.

That whole series that culminated in a blown fake field goal was baffling to me. It begins with a 1st and 20, with Vandy's DBs all out of the game. Playcall: run up the middle. The fake field goal at the end of that series was just baffling.

I am trying to be positive, like thinking that if we win next week that we will double our SEC wins over the last two seasons. We will also have cut our under performance in half, going from 4 losses to lessor talented teams, to 2.

If next week results in a loss, I will officially be despondent. This is going to be a long off-season.
