Can you? We can put points on almost anyone. Lots of points. If only we had a defense. It would be a completely different situation and most likely a great season. Dools just can't seem to put the two together on the same field.

Dooley is just one unlucky guy. If Wilcox would have stayed, we most likely would have had another season of middle of the road defense or slightly better. That would have made a huge difference in the season.

Imagine how bad we will be next year if Bray, CP, Hunter and remember ZR and Rivera are also gone.
Who would bet their career on next years offense and this defense?

Better yet, Imagine 2013 with allot of skill players gone
and Dooley at the Helm. Just when we think things can't get any worse, we may be in for a big suprise.
Stop the madness...please....my wife said, well maybe their in the wrong conference....LOL

With just a serviceable defense this team is 6-3 right now easily, maybe 7-2...

We'd be in position for a 9 or 10 win season, not counting the bowl game.

The thing that baffles me is how the defense can be as bad as they are from last season to this year. I know the scheme is different but is it that confusing because you dropped a lineman and added a LB? The DBs still cover receivers and tackle. We were better at both last year with the same personnel!

Randolph's injury was mentioned yesterday as a possible problem but I seriously doubt that is the reason for our troubles. I have never witnessed a bigger drop-off with the same players in a team ever. I hope we can find SOMETHING this week or we may be looking at 1-2 in these last 3 games.

GO VOLS!!

This team would be better served putting their best 4 linemen on the field and the fastest 3 linebackers they can find.. They don't have the right personnel to run a 3-4. It was going to be bad because they didn't have it.. No one anticipated this bad, but it was going to be ugly either way..

Very true; the Sunseri hire will haunt Dooley forever.

This has got to be the most frustrating defense I've seen at UT. Over the years of watching the Big Orange there have been many times our offense has been shut down by quality SEC defenses. But, to watch this inept defense play sickens me!

We would most likely be 7-2 at this point with a decent defense. We would be ranked around 15 in the country having only lost to Bama and UF. In the SEC if you score 44 on UGA, 31 on Miss St and 35 on USC, those should be wins.

Sunseri was a terrible hire that has cost us this season and maybe Dooley his job.

I don't know... if Wilcox was as anxious as he appears to have been to GTFO, Dooley had to have something to do with it, not luck.

We would be at least 7-2. UF and bama losses I can live with seeing their track record. UGA only beat uf at their worst. Even if we give up 28 points in those games we win. 8-1 possibly but 7-2 is where we should have been. But like I said in one of my threads, DD sucks in hiring and staff retention.

I know everyone wants to blame Sunseri but has anyone ever thought that he doesn't have much talent to work with...how many players on defense could start for ALA, LSU, Florida, Georgia, SC...what maybe 2-3 max, if that?
We simply don't have the talent we once had.....not giving Sunseri a break but who's idea was it to hire Sunseri and install this so called defense?

To be honest I don't love this offense. I like the players okay but I wonder about the coaching. I've seen too many long balls on 3rd and 2 and too much "cuteness". Everybody knows whats going to happen when CP is in at tailback; how many people do we need wildcat packages for? How about a screen pass to the running back? Sometimes it seems there is no rhyme or reason to the play calling.

That ..
and they are fundamentally bad ..tackling , angle , shedding , terrible leverage by the front

all of these things are coaching related and not talent releated

someone needs to coach regardless of the scheme

Imagine this team with any defense.
We'd do just as well if they took a knee every first down.
Just have to make sure we got the ball last.
