Who is going lead this team to a winning season and ending the gator streak next year?

Offense:
Blair- best run blocking OT I've seen in a long while.
Wolfe- great run blocking TE for the spread
Crowder- C always has the ball so he needs to be good for us so we can be effective.
Lane- he's a senior. It's his turn to shine, and I hope he gets at least a 60-40 split carry wise with Hurd. With all his injuries since high school he's the kid I'm pulling for most to have a break out season. He deserves it, and we need him.

Defense:
Lambert- Must provide some pass rush for us
Weatherd- must contain edge and be a combo package with JRM
JRM- probably the best coverage LB we have and he'll be needed to hold the edge and cover the slot at WLB
Justin King- he's my replacement for AJ at MLB as of now until one of the freshman can take over. Kings a great athlete, and he'll provide much better coverage skills in the back field. If AJ stays look for King to play some SLB and Maggit to move to the LEO on passing downs.
Jaylen Miller- dudes supposedly got into supreme shape while he's been here and lost some bad weight. Many have said he's a very good pass rusher who just had some bad weight coming in that he had to lose. He'll get his chance this spring to prove his worth.

My most important incoming impact player of 2014:
Payne. If he can lock down the nickel CB position it's going to improve our defense drastically. We have to be able to stop teams from driving 85 yards down the field and winning games. A pass rush would help, but we also need some lock down CB. Payne is a stud. Him and Sutton should make a good 1,2 punch with either Foreman, Coleman, or Jones taking up the other CB spot. I also hope to see L. Johnson on passing downs at FS and TKJR some at SS.

2 Sleepers:
Pearson: he'll be starting by the start of the season, but he'll only be as effective as the QB is that's throwing him the ball.
Carr- he's going to get a chance to start a DT, and he's the best d-line prospect on this team. He's fast, strong, athletic, and he has had a taste of playing in big games already before the injury. Carr should come out hungry this spring, and he should win the starting DT spot.

Worley
Lane
North
A.J. Johnson
Sutton
Vereen
Medley/Bullock

I don't see Worley as the starter. I see Fergy as the starter.

This season bUTch was trying to red shirt the two freshmen and trying to get us in to a bowl game, so he played Worley.

Next season, he will begin to look to the future. Worley will be a senior and it is time to give the q.b. of the future time to get broken in.

We don't need to play Worley in 2014 and then in 2015 have to break in a q.b. that has had little playing time.

In 2015, we should be ready to post our first winning season since 2009. We will still lack depth at some positions but our key starters should have plenty of experience.

Also, I think Worley has topped out, as far as his potential growth in the future. Once Fergy starts to play, it will be obvious that he has more up side than Worley has...

I would put Florida, Vandy, Ole Miss in the toss up and switch Georgia and South Carolina.

Just my opinion

I want us to qualify for a bowl game next season but we will be very young and still not have much depth.

Should we be able to win the close games, then we will be able to get to a bowl game.

Close games in 2013 that got away from us were the UGA, Vandy & Florida games.

Close games in 2012 that got away from us were Missouri & Mississippi State.

Got to win the close games.

Hopefully your right. I just see it hard for Butch to not play his most experienced Sr QB

I agree with you. I just think Georgia and South Carolina are going to be harder for us. Especially south carolina

Butch better not lose to Vandy again. Will have much more talent and Vandy loses it's qb, best playmaker and best defensive players. Just sayin.

Maggit will be have the biggest impact on defense. He will be a monster rushing the passer from the outside. On offense Ferguson wins the job and has plenty of speedy targets to throw to, but the biggest impact will be Hurd. The Vols will show dramatic improvement on both sides of the ball and win 8 or 9 games. IMHO.

Todd Kelly will make an impact.
I heard Wiseman was doing well last season.
Maggitt will be welcomed as well.

Predicting next season at this point is ridiculous. UGA, Vandy, Florida all have a pretty big turnover at critical positions. Ole Miss is another young inconsistent team like us whose qb just had a 6 TO game with MSU. Even OK had its early season struggles so who knows.

Lets get through spring and see what some of these jucos can do with a couple of freshman sprinkled in. Lambert, Hurd, Malone along with Maggitt and Carr jump out to me. Sutton and North as well really need to progress and most importantly since 3/4's of our losses were on poor qb play somebody has got to have the light bulb come on. We also really need some help for Coleman in coverage. Guy is good in run support but has been torched over and over and over...in fact, speed all around in the secondary is essential with some sort of pass rush. Why Dooley did not pay attention to that critical factor I'll never know?

Most of the guys that you people are calling "upgrades" for next season have never played a single down of major college football.

No wonder most of this fan base is heavily disappointed every single year.

I agree with everyone on the impact players next year. I expect to see a lot of the newcomers contributing on both sides of the ball.

Blair and Wiesman will bring an aggressive, tough attitude that has been missing. After sitting out a year (RS), I'm expecting Jackson to be a beast. Also hoping Sanders and Kendrick step up. Kerbyson will be solid.

Malone and Pearson will offer lots of options opposite North. Wharton and Jenkins should contribute in the slot.

Both Wolfe and Helm will be major contributors at TE. Finally, a down the field threat from the TE position.

Worley and Ferguson will be the top options at QB. Ferguson could be the full time starter by seasons end.

There are so many names at DE that could step up next season. Vereen and possibly Lambert lead the list. Same is true for DT. Saulsberry, O'Brien, Lambert, and possibly Carr could be the ones next year. Of course there are Mixon, Brown, Williams, and Miller in the mix as well. Depth is much better this year even though it is inexperienced.

The big, fast incoming LBs will have a significant impact next year. Newcomers Weatherd, Johnson, and Bates will have an impact complementing Maybin and Maggitt. And don't forget Bryant. The middle is more of question with AJ possibly leaving. I wonder what happened to Harris. He just seemed to drop off the radar.

I think the newcomers make a huge impact at CB. I see Jones, Payne, Gaulden, Mosley, and Williams all making contributions. Payne and Gaulden could be the new nickels. Kelly, McDowell, and Gaulden could all be major factors next season at safety. McNeil better come out ready to play because these guys will be in the hunt for playing time. Gaulden can do so much, who knows where he will end up. Where ever that is, he will be a future star.

Well there it is. I've thinking about next year's lineups a lot given the incredible talent coming in. Nice to see more quality talent and depth next year.
