Impressions of Vols opponents this week

i remember something gary danielson said during a telecast and it stuck with me. the conversation was about "style points" and winning in style.

he said if there is such a thing as style points for offense, than there has to be style points for defense.

that florida defense is nasty and they are allowing an average of 8 points per game in their last 8 home games.

I think Florida will be fine. My "bode well for UT" statement was not in refence of an upset. I meant that the Vols need the Gators to struggle running the ball and Worley needs to be able to throw some, and I think Toledo had some success there. IF IF IF those 2 things happen the Vols have a shot to at least give them a run for their money at the Swamp, giving more hope for UT's future.

toledo had success drawing florida offsides. that was about it.

SC by far looked to be the best in the east and maybe the entire SEC.....UGA's oline and D will not get it done against the better SEC teams....their oline is rally bad....expect SC to rape them this Thursday...

Idk it's all relative. UGA could very well be the best, they played a potential national championship contender toe to toe. SC played North Carolina, not exactly a power house in football

Florida's defense looked great. Their offense didn't impress me at all. South Carolina and Georgia are easily the best two teams in the SEC East this year.

Felt USCe was the team to beat in the east and saw nothing that changed my mind. I can assure you the ole ball coach had a long talk friday with Clowney about practice effort he will be ready for UGA.

UGA loaded on off as expected but replacing their entire def and expecting them to hold up this early was too much to ask and UGAs schedule gets no easier...

Florida is a defensive team with a very defensive minded coach and appear to be sticking with what worked last year. Muschamp has been pretty clear about running a power run offense and appears committed to it. Florida fans I talk to are stiil trying to figure out why the hire of Boise state's off. coordinator??? He didn't run that at Boise state??

Kentucky is Kentucky

Missouri is heavy on offense and may surprise some this year if their def can hold up

Vandy like Missouri will give one of the top teams trouble this year but like Missouri can their def hold up

Tennessee will depend heavily on a stout off line and a strong front seven on def. I have felt that they can win 8 games this year and have seen nothing to change that this weekend.

Alabama has work to do on off to repeat period. Def is good but will be tested by a&m in a couple of weeks

Texas A&M love him or hate him Johnny football is one of the best in college football but if he doesn't learn self control will cause more problems than any opponent they face. Sumlin is very underrated as a coach and has more to do with A&M's success than Johnny football.

LSU was my darkhorse in the west and had the best win of the weekend. TCU is a good team that is well coached and LSU beat them on a neutral field. Them and A&M could be playing for the west crown at the end of the year.

Ole miss like Missouri and Vandy is going to push one or two of the west's top teams but their has to hold up

MSU Unfortunately Dan Mullen may be on the hot seat at the season's mid point

Auburn def is an issue according to their fans and off is going to take some time but talent is there

Arkansas will get someone this year and may be the team that decides the west but does not win it.

Just my two cents worth and observations
GO VOLS!

Florida had 262 yards rushing and averaged 5.5 YPC. They also had the ball for 40 minutes TOP and ran 70 plays. They DOMINATED that game and were never in a position to lose.

And that was with 9 players out, 6 of those players significant in the 2 deep, and playing ultra conservative.

Did no one learn from Bowling Green last year?

Dominating Toledo, very good.

One thing I learned about UGA they got a play that's called faking an injury that is called from the sidelines! So their D gets tired real easy against fast paced offenses!
