Stokes is using everything he's got to advantage in the college game. But most if not all those advantages disappear at the NBA level.
Stokes will never draw a double-team in the NBA. He will be guarded by someone of the same weight, +6 inches in height, +10 inches in reach, and +12 inches jumping.
Even as a rebounder, his body/height/hops work against him. Compare Stokes to a great rebounder/defender like The Worm. Rodman was quick enough to defend a guard, but long at 6'8", stronger than his 235 lbs would indicate, and a leaper. Phil Jackson called him the greatest athlete he ever coached.
When Stokes mentioned football, that was a serious career consideration. The difference between being a freak and being a tweener is often simply a choice of which sport.
--- quick edit: too negative ---
Stokes is amazing with his brute strength and delicate touch with the ball. Never seen anyone like him in that way. He's smart, mature, self-disciplined--everything you'd want in a player or a son.
My point is that in basketball he's a freak at this level, but a tweener at the next. In the NFL (if he could learn enough of that sport's special skills soon enough) he could be a freak there.
