Which is why I'm not worried about our lack of 2nd half D last night, Martin will fix that. If this team continues to push the pace and put up 65+ a night were gonna have a very good record.

Agreed but we really will continue to miss Maymon against opponents with quality in the post.

I worry our offense won't put up the 65 plus needed pts. That's why I worry about our 2nd half def.

Seriously, does anyone know for certain if Maymon will be back or not? I might be out of the loop, but from what I've read and heard, it's still undecided if he will be back this year or not. Possible medical redshirt?

no official word but the rumor is he will not return this season. He has his red-shirt year left but there is some debate (among a few VolNation members at least) as to whether he would return or take his chances overseas.

Love the defense!!!! No reason to be worried about the 2nd half of last night. I'm more impressed with the ball movement more than anything. We will continue getting better and the next few games will tell a lot!

I don't think anyone has came out and said he won't be back but common sense tells you he will redshirt this season. I'd imagine they'll announce it when SEC play starts but smart move to keep pushing him. If you have a guy that has a bad injury like that, the last thing you want is for him to be lazy and not work to get better because he can use a redshirt. I'd expect Maymon to be stronger than ever next season.

I'm not one to say wait until next year...but WOW could you imagine our team with him back, Stokes, McRae, Golden, and HUBBS!

Oh man. I know. If we return that, I would imagine being preseason top 10 and making a deep push into the tournament

I hope he would return and take Hubbs under his wing as he did Stokes. If he does return next season, anyone would be hard pressed to find a better team in the nation when it comes to the post.

For sure agree. Golden is already good enough with the ball to handle elite defenders, Hubbs has a sweet shot and can attack the rim, McRae is good enough to crash the boards and score at will (when he wants too), and Stokes and Maymon would be absolute beast in the paint. Add in players like Yemi, who's getting better and better, and guys like Richardson and you have a solid team.

They put up 69 against a very good defensive Wichita State team. If we continue to run and push the pace I think well be in the 60s most of our games.

A lot probably depends on this year. If this team makes the dance and wins a game or two, yea next years squad would probably be preseason top 10, maybe even 5. However, if we miss the tournament this year I wouldn't expect us to be ranked very high, somewhere between 20-25.

Your right. If we miss the tournament by some chance, we'd be the most slept on team in America going into next season. I'd LOVE it because we'd ring plenty of heads with this team.

I think that's UTs best chance to date probably at a national championship, jmo. That upperclassmen and experience that team would have, along with the fire power, could be a very fun season.

Let's not get to excited now. Pearl had at least one roster I would take over that roster pretty much without a second thought.

As I said above...if this years team doesn't make the tourney, then that has to adjust next years expectation.
