In honor of Pat, I say A-B-C

Sorry, can't do it. I've known Sarah Strong and her dad for four years. I'll only root against Sarah if she's playing Tennessee.

I'm also old enough to remember Dawn Staley as a player beating the LVs to keep them out of a Final Four in Knoxville. Paid her back a year later in the finals, but still, to heck with her.

I hope that all LV fans join me in cheering the way that our beloved Pat would be this weekend.
ABC - Anybody But Connecticut

I made plans for during the game tomorrow, and will only watch the replay if SC wins. I don't think the Gamecocks will repeat as champions, but I sure can hope for it. I'm a big fan of Dawn Staley and, even though her Virginia team broke my heart in the early 90s, I know Pat Summitt appreciated her toughness and competitiveness, and so did I. Still do.

All that said, I do understand why so many other folks won't root for another SEC team to win. I agree there are definitely reasons not to hope for our biggest conference opponents to succeed -- mainly because of recruiting -- but it has been a looooong time since I could work up a super deep dislike for anyone else in the SEC.

I'm gettin' soft in my old age, but never too soft to root for Auriemma. He hurt the feelings of my all-time favorite sports legend too many times to do that.

Rooting for UConn to add one more to the pile and put even more distance between UT and Connecticut in the total titles count is an entirely foreign concept to me.

Yes, South Carolina is the new money, I get it, but after fifteen years of all the stuff Husky fans said about Pat -- dude. No way I'm going blue on this one.

For any LV fan to ever even consider rooting for Geno is blasphemous and disparages Pat’s memory. It doesn’t matter who he plays, I cheer against him to be destroyed. Will piss on his grave when that scum finally dies.

I don't have a dog (or hen) in this fight. Geno is hopefully retiring after this, let him have his last hurrah, I don't especially care one way or another. I don't hate Dawn the way some of you seem to either.

But one thing's for sure, if Texas had reached the final I'd be 100% rooting for them dang northerners. That is one team whose success makes me sick.

I wish I was at the liberty of telling you what Geno said about our beloved Pat, her coaching staff, and players during the recruitment of Maya Moore. But I swore never to divulge that. Many long time LV fans here will know what I’m talking about.
But believe me, Geno is scum. That’s all I will say on the subject.
Go South Carolina!

I don't think anyone likes Texass except for their fans.

As for Geno, he's going to get him another one, but there's at least one team he played this season and didn't beat...
