The Scout on Dye
“Dye is one of the most physically gifted prospects in general in the 2025 class. I think when you look at his dimensions and we had the opportunity to measure him at the On3 Elite Series event last month. He is a unique physical talent. He’s around 6-5, close to 270 pounds. He has 35.5 inch arms and a 7-1 wing span. And at that size he moves really well. You watch him run around the field on Friday nights and he moves like a much smaller prospect. His pure physical tools immediately give him a ton to work with. He’s going to have the size of an interior defensive lineman but the athleticism of an edge player. I think he gives Tennessee a big time talent to work with.
I think the biggest thing with him is he is going to be continuing to improve as a player on Friday nights. There’s no doubt he’s one of the bigger freaks in the 2025 class. It gives Tennessee another top talent on the edge. I think that’s a position they have recruited really well under Josh Heupel dated back to James Pearce a couple of classes ago. We have seen that manifest on the field in Knoxville. They have continued that trend of getting these high upside physically talented edge players and Dye only continues that. He’s a guy who in terms of his physical skills is a complete no brainer. He’s a huge pick up for Tennessee
