I did read on another thread that we don't have much of this. If so, how do we fix that problem? There has to be a way to build up our schools.

I thought that, compared to football, the basketball talent in TN was pretty good. There seem to always be a few 4 or 5 star recruits every year, and they're not always in Memphis.

We have a lot of in state talent. Too bad your fans feel the need to trash that very city those players grew up in to try to get them to come to Knoxville. Sad really.

There are three big time recruits from Middle TN right now. Not a single one of them has listed UTK as a possible choice. Vandy and Memphis are in on two of them.

Homefry, i like your style. Seems like Tennessee's pool of instate talent is increasing. I would like to see UT sign about half it's class from Tennessee. We certianly made a step in that direction last year.

in state talent is good but not great. and when a kid is great, they feel compelled to go somewhere else to compete for sec and national championships.

Chism, Prince, T. Smith, J. Smith all from TN. Hopson and Lofton are from nearby Kentucky. There is plenty of talent from in state and its surrounding areas. No reason to be concerned about that.

We'd have one hell of a recruiting base for a sumo wrestling squad.

I read in an article yesterday that Tennessee is statistically the laziest state in the US. People need to get out and do something. Eat healthier, participate in leagues, etc.

With Tennessee having a decent population size it should produce much more talent than it does. It all starts with education, and the right mindset. No excuse.

Thats cute and all but I was talking about two middle tennessee players by the names of Alex Poythress (Clarksville Northeast) and Kedran Johnson (Marshall County).

I might have thought that joke was funny if I was 12.

Recruit out of state.

Yep. How many players for Duke or UNC do you think are from North Carolina? The reason we do it in Memphis is because we have an easier path to getting the recruits to stay home and there are a bunch of them each year. Its not that Pastner cant recruit outside of Memphis, its just that he hasnt needed to yet.

Our coaches not being allowed to recruit off campus and then getting fired probably have a lot to do with UT not being listed.

omg Memphis is so badass.

NIT last year, barely scraping by to win the CUSA this year and a first round exit.

You're right, they don't need to recruit out of state.
