In the vein of Tennessee is everwhere

One of the contestants on Big Brother is wearing UT shirts. She is a bartender in Nashville and is not from Tennessee so not sure why or how she became a UT fan.
Well if she's a bartender she probably bought those shirts to fit in. Maybe thinks she can get local guys with them or wears them to just assimilate to the states sports culture during the season.

I live in Nash and worked with a girl from Michigan that has donned Titans and Vols stuff now that she lives here.

I live in the Philippines. I'm always wearing my power T and orange of some kind. So much so, that people from around the world wear orange just to fit in with the bartenders and myself. It's kinda like a weekly "wear orange" Day. Too bad everyone doesn't participate. But it does irritate the Georgia grad that lives here. So I call it a win

Over the course of my long life, I've had at least a half dozen people reply to my statement "I went to school in Knoxville", and they say "Is that where the gold is?"

Anybody else run into that?

I live in Pittsburgh right now after living basically my whole life in Knoxville. My Pennsylvanian fiancƩ tells me all the time that she had no interaction with or interest in Tennessee until she met me and now it feels like Tennessee if everywhere and everyone she knows goes on vacation to Tennessee. I find it hilarious to invade her life with so much Orange and Rocky Top.

That guy has been to a thrift store somewhere

A funny relateable story. One of my best friends now retired from BellSouth detested having to wear a BellSouth uniform prior to his retirement. Once he did retire he made sure the homeless got all his BellSouth labeled gear like hats and shirts especially. It did his heart proud to see guys living under a bridge or panhandling in his hometown proudly rocking that BellSouth brand.
