In the year 2021...

Yes. There will more and more political pressure put on the sport due to the inability to prevent concussions, more lawsuits from former players, etc. Football will eventually be deemed to dangerous and will either be eliminated altogether by the nanny state that thinks its primary role is to protect people from themselves or the game will be forced to change into some sort of glorified two hand touch and will look nothing like what we are watching today. Just my thoughts.

I think you may be right, but the heat will be coming from forces other than politics. Politics may get involved at some point, but the pressure will be coming from elsewhere.

Organized football will not be a sport in 2021 imo.

I highly doubt that one. There will be major safety protocols put into place in the next 5-10 years that will drastically change how football is played, but it will still be played.

I actually could see football implementing some things from rugby (must wrap-up, no "spear" tackles, no hitting of "defenseless players" rule expanded by quite a lot) to make the game a lot safer. But I think the sport will still exist 10, 20, 50 years from now, even if it isn't the most popular sport in the US anymore.

I'll put it like this; boxing, despite all the safety risks and concerns, is still around. Football will largely follow boxing's trajectory if the rules aren't significantly changed.

Candy and Kensucky will both still suck at football.

Teams will be paying TN to get them off the schedule as TN rolls to its 10th national title.

In 2021 football will be of the flag variety since two hand touch was too rough. Also, every team will be crowned national champion each year so no ones feelings are hurt.

We play USC. Any chance this will be a blockbuster game by then?

Who do you think will be coaching UT/USC?

What will the final score be? Who will rush for the most yards? Any pick sixes?

I'm also looking at 2026 vs Nebraska. Any thoughts on this game?

I'm focused on winning Saturday. Not worried about a game 8 years from now.

Eight years ago UT was the defending SEC East champion.

How many foresaw what has happened since then?

Good luck predicting what the program will look like eight years from now.

Thought you'd never ask.....Jon Gruden for both teams.

Peyton's Son will be the QB and Peyton will be offensive coordinator so you KNOW we'll throw the ball around.

I expect UT to be 14-0 heading into the SEC Championship Game against Baylor.

(yep, Baylor joins the SEC in 2018 IMHO) along with Virginia Tech in the East.

Most believable so far...

Butch Jones (UT) vs Kirby Smart (USC)
UT wins 81-3. Lane Kiffin and Ed Orgeron seen crying on the sidelines and hugging each other. Layla has moved on to a successful porn career.

Dude really? That is so unprofessional. No way they score 3.
