Putin's Coup In India Will Shock The US | ZeroHedge

The deal takes on even more significance as it was just one part of 28 investment deals between Russia and India signed during the very recent visit of Putin himself to Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. These covered a broad range of subjects, including not just oil, gas, and petrochemicals, steel, and shipbuilding, but also military matters. The opportunities for bleed-through military elements to appear in the oil and gas projects agreed between Russia and India are bad enough from the U.S. perspective.

Don’t tell me the idiot lost any progress with India as well?

Trump had it teed up for him to foster our economic and military relations.

I swear, NATO/The West knows how to make enemies out of friends.

Canada on Monday expelled an Indian diplomat who is a known intelligence official, but on Tuesday India in tit-for-tat fashion expelled a senior Canadian diplomat from its territory. India’s Ministry of External Affairs cited Canadian "interference" in India's sovereign matters. "The decision reflects Government of India’s growing concern at the interference of Canadian diplomats in our internal matters and their involvement in anti-India activities," the ministry said in a statement.

Sometimes friends aren't friends.

Here is another example of the left trying to sell people on their foreign policy acumen when we can see for ourselves it sucks.

Buying out NATO and our enemies aren't good foreign policy when other fringe (fragile) relationships struggle.

What has India ever done to NATO?
It sounds like there is good reason to believe government operatives assassinated a Canadian citizen from a group they had labeled subversive.

Point is there are no "friends"........ Just countries with common interests and conflicting interests.

Our foreign and economic policy doesn't operate like that. We either have "friends" (countries that are our vassals and do everything we tell them) or "enemies" (countries that exercise their own sovereignty and make decisions based on their own national interests).

tell me how many nations are actively engaged in complex trade agreements with nations they actively disagree with many political issues on? its what China is doing, its what Russia is doing, any power is going to hold a weaker nation to the stronger nations standards when coming to a trade deal.

How often has China made changes to accommodate Nicaragua?
When was the last time Russia made a trade deal with no requirements besides an exchange of money/goods?

That's bullshat and you know it. We are allies with countries all over the world that act counter to our interests all over the globe. The vast majority of the time we have similar interests. When our interests diverge to the point we aren't on the same page they cease being allies.

This is the way it has always worked......... Always will.

No other country sanctions like the US. How many countries are on US sanctions right now?

That should tell you all you need to know and refutes every word you posted above.

That doesn't refute anything I posted.

Yes it does. The amount of sanctions we impose is a clear indication of how hostile we are to those that do not walk in lock step with the US.
What are they being sanctioned for.... Give me some examples.......

For instance, sanctioning Iran to curb their development of nuclear material for weapons is a bad thing?

literally no one else CAN sanction like we do. we are the world's largest economy. we trade with literally everyone. Its impossible for Montengro to sanction as much as we do, they are way too small, don't have enough trade partners or trade value. even the European countries are tiny compared to us. The whole EU barely equals us. China doesn't equal us.

you want us to use diplomacy, but every time we try, with a sanction, you freak out. its like you think we should trade with everyone, no matter what they do, or what we think. and that's just not how trade, or diplomacy, works.

FT, which was the first outlet to report the development, indicated that "Ottawa has been told by New Delhi that it must repatriate roughly 40 diplomats by October 10, according to people familiar with the demand."

Further, "One person said India had threatened to revoke the diplomatic immunity of diplomats who remain after that date."
Trudeau at the G20 summit in India, held Sept.9-10 tried to rally Western allies to pile the pressure on PM Modi, but reportedly to no avail, as many countries including the US are wary of harming relations with India and its large economy.

Only somehow like a Trudeau could screw up international respect for Canada.
