Indiana QB Peyton Ramsey pursuing graduate transfer

20/34 (59%) 227 yards 0tds 1 into
17 carries at 3.2 yards per for 54 and 1 td.

Those arent numbers that win you games in the SEC.
Maurer has put up better numbers against GA.

And besides he lost to JG. JG beat him head to head. You can Ramseys numbers were better, and he still lost.

No idea why people get infatuated with single game performances.
JG didn’t beat anybody in that game. Our team beat their team. JG stunk it up and Ramsey continuously hurt us with his scrambling. His rushing yds are negated by sacked yards so the net 54 yards does not truly reflect his actual rushing yards.

JG and BM played much better against much tougher defenses. Ramsey would make a good backup if Shrout were to transfer though.
What tougher defesne did JG play better against??? Missouri?????
I dont think they were better the Penn St. In which Ramsey play better the JGs best game ever.

South Carolina and Missouri both had better defenses than PSU. Maurer looked good against UGA and Bana.

Try harder to hate TN QBs.

You do realize that PSU has a higher ranked defense then both those teams..right??
Im not hating on our QBs. Some have reached there potential and others are not ready yet....Maurer did look good and if he takes the needed step then we are in great shape. Id rather not risk another 7-5 seson with JG if he is not...Ramsey would be a nice bridge....

No he did not. There is no head to head between quarterbacks in football. This is not boxing. Learn the game or please keep your opinions to yourself.

Our quarterback played horribly, and their quarterback played pretty danged well. Those are facts.
Ramsey played good enough to lose to bad qb play. Congrats. Still dont want him.

If the head to head stats dont matter why did people bring up JGs stats for the game?

And JGs stats arent effected by the play of our team or theirs?

You are making one sided comparisons.

JG won. That's the only stat that matters.

I call BS on your take. It was obvious who the best Qb was. Ramsey scrambled and picked up more first downs in that game then JG has his entire career. He also demonstrated superior accuracy and decision making than JG head to head in that game. I’m not saying the guy is AA but he is clearly an upgrade over JG.

Missouri had a much better defense. Learn to use actual stats. Missouri was 14th and PSU was 34th.

Im using the entire defense not just yards per game. Lol.

Here is a link showing total defensive performance...PSU gave up less PPG and had more turnovers and while having the 9th toughest schedule...compared to Missouri 52nd...

So before talking stats. Try looking at more then 1 that supports for argument..thanks for playing

He's not a take because he's simply not needed here. TN has a more than full QB room as it is now and he's not talented enough to warrant him being brought in for one season. If TN didn't reach out and pursue Newman or King when they hit the portal what on earth makes you think they would for Ramsey ?

He is a proven starter with multiple years of decent performance unlike JG. It would also allow HB one more year to develop. If he is better than what we have in the Qb room(excluding HB) he is a take all day long. Let some of the other Qb’s transfer if they are way down the depth chart after spring practice.

Lol. Believe whatever you want to believe, but we aren't contacting him and he isn't coming here.

You simply do not know that unless you have insider status. I heard the same thing from many on VN here when I was speculating that Cades Mays was coming back to the Vols.
I have no idea what the coaching staff thinks but I guess you know. If I was on the coaching staff I would reach out to Ramsey.

Believe whatever you wish. You should really try to at least know what you are talking about though. Ramsey wasn't some great starter at IU, he started 12 games his Sophomore year and then lost his starting job last year to Michael Penix. The only reason Ramsey was even starting in the Gator Bowl against TN was because Penix got hurt in game 7 and Ramsey took over. Geez ... but yeah, by all means let's bring him in. Our staff is smarter than that thank goodness.

As I stated earlier in this thread he is not an AA but is a significant upgrade over JG. Any transfer who can improve the Vols next year should be considered. Ramsey also played significant time in 2018. Look at his highlights over the last two years. He should be a take for a counter this year if our other targets fail to materialize.

Yep... bringing him in makes no sense.

I agree if he can get Tennessee more wins than they would get without him bring him in. I think Tennessee will win 9 games in 2020 but I think they could possibly win 10 or more with him possibly.
