Great seats, you must have been close to the start/finish line.

what's crazy, and you know this from having been, is that the straights are sooo long, that even if it looks like the seats are close to the start/finish, they're really not. as is the case with us.

we can see the flag stand from our seats, but we're not really that close. we sit more in front of all the drivers with good pit position (Danica, TK, WHeldon, Dixon, Marco, Scheckter, Vitor, ect.)

besides, at Indianapolis, unless you're sitting in Stand A Penthouse or Paddock Penthouse, it's hard to really see the start/finish if you're underneath, unless you sit down close to the wall. and even still, the Penthouse is the best view of the yard of bricks.

For pole day in '72, we got to sit in turn 1 upper level and you could see the entire front straight from the exit of 4 around to where the inside bleachers blocked the exit of 2. In other words about half the track. On race day we were in turn 4 in what was a new higher grandstand. It allowed us to see over the inside bleachers and catch bits of the backstraight, most of 3 and all the way from 3 to the end of the front straight.

-Briscoe needs to take better care of his equipment and learn to admit when he makes a mistake or he will find himself doing the same work as Kevin Cogan.

i think today went a long way towards making the boss happy.

and it came on the 30th anniversary of Rick Mears winning his first race with Penske.

i like Helio these days much more than Briscoe, but i was impressed with him today.
