Outside of the obvious to Bru, does anybody know of significant injuries to other Vols? I read on here last night that Mays was grimacing late in the 4th and Beasley didn’t go back in.
Bye week seems to have come at a good time.
Proud of the effort last night by all of the Vols players, coaches and fans. It was great to see!!!

I was watching Mays every time the camera was on him. He just looked tired and out of breath to me. Cubelic expounded on it more than once.

That being said I am sure he’s sore today at a minimum.

Beasley has been nursing a nagging injury all season. Still don’t know what it is yet.

I saw several videos and some still shots of Bru’s leg. I now believe it was more than a broken ankle. Definitely looked like one of the bottom two leg bones (tibia or fibula?) were broken. He whole foot was sideways. Could still be an ankle i guess, but Im not an emergency room doc or whatever.

Just wait, there's plenty ER Message board docs that will give you a diagnosis.

A tired and out of breath Mays, was better than anyone else we have had at center. Our OLine last night looked in sync and I thought it was best we looked all season so far.

I believe the starting 5 OL played every snap last night, no substitutions...another reason to be winded.

About 25 years ago on the 4th of July, my wife and I were playing a round of golf on an early morning with dew on the grass. She slipped and fell ..... Broke tibia and fibula with a compound fracture as well as the ankle. Plate and screws holding the shin bones together and 3 long screws at different locations on the ankle to stabilize. Was getting around pretty good until she fell again in Gatlinburg on vacation about 5 years ago ... A highly polished wood floor while wearing socks. Opposite leg but tore the ACL, MCL, and Meniscus of the knee.
At 64 now, the knees are shot and I push her around in a wheelchair. I pray that Bru's injury and his strength of youth will completely heal this warrior so that he may continue to live his dream.

On replay, it looked like Mays was grabbing his hand when he was grimacing in the 4th quarter, but that could really be just a coincidence. He certainly looked gassed, but that was expected. I think he should be alright, and the bye gives him another week to get in shape.

Mays not only brings big, strong, physical. He understands the offense and is the LEADER on the OL. A lot of posts on this board about @football IQ". Mays has football IQ + Leadership skills.

What is the time line for coming back from this injury?

I would assume that he will be well enough to go through the NFL Combine work outs.
“A dislocated ankle that does not require surgery could heal in six weeks. More severe dislocations or injuries that require surgery can take 12 weeks or even longer to recover from.

A physician may perform a closed reduction to shift the bones back to their original position without surgery. If a closed reduction is not possible, you may need surgery to restore the joint. During surgery, surgeons may use plates and screws to strengthen the joint.

Whether you need surgery or not, you will need to keep your ankle elevated and apply ice packs to help reduce the swelling. Your doctor may prescribe medication to help with the pain.

Once the swelling reduces, your doctor may fit a walking cast or a splint on your ankle. During this stage of healing, you can start physical therapy. The physical therapist will guide you through exercises to regain your range of motion and rebuild strength within the joint.”
