Insider Trading?

So you're telling me the atmosphere between Agnew's situation and Neil Bush's situation is comparable? Between the Vietnam War, Pentagon Papers, Watergate conspiracies, etc. with the sitting VP and Neil Bush, we're dealing with two separate situations. The sharks in the media are far more interested in feeding on Agnew's situation over Neil Bush's. Again, the media atmosphere was much different between Agnew's time and Neil Bush's. Even within W's eight years, the media went from enabler to lynch mob.
No, I'm telling you the media would never have cared about a semiretarded pissant like Neil Bush. The idea that the media has it in for the Bushes is laughable. They consistently laud Jeb, and there's a fair argument that his conduct vis a vis the S&Ls was more egregious than his halfwit brother's. The media picks their heroes, villains, and irrelevants. Under no circumstance would Neil Bush be anything but the latter. I'm also pretty sure that Dan Rostenkowski and Edwin Edwards would be surprised to hear that Democrats get a free ride on corruption. John Ford, Blago, and William Jefferson would also be shocked to find that out.

I look back at Hat's examples and see a pattern - corruption within two states - LA and IL. Add Durbin into the mix and the pattern continues. Perhaps the ethics bar of the Dems would be raised if those two states were removed.

since he did this the day before the material non public information was made public i'd say this is absolutely insider trading. the fact that he didn't profit from it in any material way is not relavant.
