Instant Improvement from New Coach

Let me first say that I support CBJ and he will get his 3 years regardless, but the play to this point is unacceptable. I am sick of hearing we don't have the players to compete...

Look at the string of coaches recently that had instant improvement their first years -

Hugh Freeze - Ole Miss
Hate to say it - James Franklin - Vanderbilt
Jim Mora Jr. - UCLA
Urban Meyer - Ohio State

Besides OS, the rest did not have top 25 recruiting classes like the Vols have had the last several years.

Coaching does make a difference and I give CBJ a grade of a D to this point of the season.

Go Vols and for gods sake let's make a bowl this year !!!

How? I fully expected Tennessee to be 3-2 at this point before the season began.

Yeah let's cut a coach loose that has a top 5 class coming in after his 1st year

I keep seeing everyone point to how good CBJ is doing at recruiting. I truly hope that pans out for us, but aren't we counting our chickens before they hatch? There is no guarantee that all these recruits will actually show up on campus.

Yes.

Butch Jones being able to get most of the guys signed after a 4-6 win season will be more impressive than getting those guys to verbally commit in the first place.

Not sure if serious. Everyone expected UT to be at 3-2, no one expected Florida would gift wrap a game at the swamp or South Alabama would be in the game all the way to the end.

No one really expected an offense with four all-SEC lineman, a couple of 4* runningbacks, a slew of really big and talented WR, & a junior QB would suck so badly trying to run the new offense....at least I didn't

QB play is not as good as I had hoped but every thing else is as good or better than I expected at first of season. If you thought we were going to Eugene or Gainsville and come home with a W then that's on you. Defense and special teams are better than last year. Its a team game and QB play has made O line look worse than they are. We will lose the next 3 most likely by double digits. Then the real test for Butch begins. The last 4 games will define the season. If you were realistic in your expectations you already knew that.
