Interesting Article on "Overrated" teams for next year

Im not sure anyone is outright predicting we will be in the CFP, but its kind of foolish to count us out. Georgia and Alabama are both replacing QBs. It's not a given their replacements will come in and score enough to keep pace with Huepel's offense. They have to beat us as much as we have to beat them.

Otherwise, I'm kind of surprised South Carolina isn't on there.

UGA will be even better this year as they are loaded with talent. His name escapes me, but their QB is supposedly the real deal. Their defense will be stout and they are always strong in the trenches. Their schedule is laughable but hopefully volnation will be the difference and we pull out a Dub.

They definitely can be, but how many times have we been worried about UGA’s qb’s and then they’re nothing special? How many 5 stars have left the program under Kirby? 3 or 4 I think . The one thing I’m not sold on when it comes to UGA is their QB room, you could probably add the wideouts to that too.

Brock Vandagriff? Haven’t heard much about him, know he was a 5 star in high school

People are not discounting that Bama and UGA both will be forced to start very inexperienced QBs. That is where good DC's make their bones. Nothing replaces actual experience. I seriously doubt either of those teams are going to be known for airing it out this seasson, for both it will be putting it in the air when necessary.

After all, there's more bad things that can happen when you put the ball in the air than good things.

True. Their defense has been elite under Kirby. Hopefully we can move the ball and put up points.

The crowd noise in Athens last year made a huge difference. It have their DL the advantage needed. Neyland needs to rock extremely loud this year.

Saying our ceiling is just a NY6 bowl overwhelmingly stupid.
Our ceiling is playoffs. Expectations should be NY6 minimum. I do think the defense takes a step forward, it’s hard to assume the offense will be as good as last year but if Milton can put it all together, there is the potential.

There is some evidence that Big Joe may be able to sling it as well as Hooker (31 points on a pretty good Clemson defense). The drop off will be Herndon's ability to make huge plays with his legs when all else fails. Milton hasn't shown that, at least yet. Our defense will be better, especially the LB's and hopefully CB's. Our offensive line probably will take a step back and IMHO how well the OL plays will be the primary determinant in how well our season goes. Wright and Carvin are big holes to fill.

He has the ability to run so I expect him to make some huge plays every now and then

IMO Hooker scared me when he ran, used to would spin a lot, ball was a little loose and high stepping juke moves. Honestly I like the Bryce Young run and go down or get out of bounds method.

Young’s pocket presence was fantastic. Getting into the backfield meant nothing against him, very hard to pile up sacks on him.

Between Hooker and Milton you think Hooker was the one running scared? Hooker was faster and more elusive than Milton but not as big. Milton looks like Ben Roethlisberger running but until recently shied away from contact

Where did I say it looks like Hooker is running scared?
I said I don't like the way Hooker runs with the ball.
