Almost, but then I realized it was from a Coastal Carolina fan, and the value of their opinion is somewhere in between a rock and Kirk Herbstreit.

I have to agree with them in a way though. I think it will be almost impossible for UT to beat UNC and it looks like they will play one another. Call me a loon but I picked UNC to go all the way. They still have not peaked and if they get hot now, look out.

As close as most of these matchups are, I'm not calling anyone a loon.
I, however, have Michigan State flipping the Tarheels off switch early on.

Tourney time is time to step up again. Bruce can put a cherry on top of the season if he gets some more wins no one thinks he can. I think he loves this position. Same talk in begginging of season of how bad they were. Don't count them out.

I will definitely take this opportunity to call you a loon. Of all the 1 man show teams out there, UNC is definitely the worst of the bunch. It is Hansborough and maybe Terry...they have no depth, no tourney experience, and even though they did pull out a win at Cameron, they are going to have their hands full with Michigan St. Paul Davis is much bigger and more physical than Sheldon Williams and will be able to take it right to the Rookie of the Year. Also, Terry doesn't have a chance of slowing down Shannon Brown. UNC is out in the second round, however, they will be an easy top 5 pick next year.

That's all you had to say. Anyone who can do that can win it all. Not to mention they have won 11 of their last 13 games and those two losses were a 3 point loss to BC and a 4 point loss to Duke. I realize that the only way UT gets past the Sweet 16 is if UNC is not there to knock them out; therfore, it will be very fashionable among UT fans to talk down UNC over the next few days. I hope UT wins the whole thing. Unfortunately, UNC is a better team than Mich. St. and UT. Also, UNC has that history to lean which seems to make a difference. How many times have we seen a mediocre KY or UNC team still hanging around when it gets to the Elite 8 or Final 4? Plenty in my memory.

Any team with a decent post presence has a pretty good chance to knock the Vols out. We're just all hoping for some unbelieveable shooting, and bad nights by our opponents. I have no choice but to be optimistic, it is what I do!!!

I'm with you, but I will not be disappointed with a third round loss. Nobody expected us to be here anyway. Loosing to Winthrop would suck, otherwise this is all gravy.

I am not sure UNC is better than Michigan State, particularly in the NCAA tournament. MSU played an very tough schedule, have wins against several top teams, Izzo always seems to get it done in the tourney, and the core of that team (Ager, Brown, and Davis) have already played important roles in making it to a final four. I just think UNC is too green to make a serious run this year.

Say what you will but I'll take the #2 team in the ACC over the #6 in the Big10 any day on any court. IMO both of those conferences were a little down this year but UNC has played pretty much lights-out since early January which Mich.St. has been very inconsistent. Mich.St. has lost 6 of their last 10 BTW.

If my family didn't vacation in Myrtle Beach each summer, I wouldn't even know Coastal Carolina existed (before the whole Buzz thing).

MSU has wins against Arizona, Georgia Tech, Boston College, Indiana, Iowa, Ohio State, and Illinois among others. They also lost in 3 ot's to Gonzaga. UNC Also has some nice wins, including some against common opponents, but to me MSU has the more impressive wins on it's resume. MSU is always a tough tourney team, and I think in this particular setting (the NCAA tourney) MSU has the edge because........ A. tourney experience B. The edge in the post and C. one of the most explosive sets of wings in the nation.

If I'm not mistaken, it said this poster was from Chicago, IL. I was thinking the hatred for the Vols might just be the whole Pearl v. Illinois thing again. I figure that's why they put us in the same region - for the story. Hopefully Bruce can get 'em this year!

I don't care what anyone says, the Vols deserve to be there and they deserve to be 2nd seed. All of the teams that we lost to are in the tournament except for South Carolina. We had the 3rd hardest schedule in the NCAA. We beat Florida twice during regular season and beat Kentucky at Rupp Arena. 6 teams out of the SEC made the tournament and I think we are the best in the SEC, so we deserve to be in a higher seed than the others.

The teams that we might have to play must be scared and they should be.

GO VOLS !!!!!! :dance2:

You're showing a severe lack of knowledge here. Surprisingly enough, UNC does not have a depth problem. UNC's players are young, but they had a large number of players get a significant amount of minutes this year. They also have a starter this year that won the National Championship last year and contributed significant minutes in that game. Just that ONE guy has more NCAA tournament experience than UT's entire team. UNC will torch Michigan State in the second round.

If you're looking for a team that has severe problems with depth, they hail from down Tobacco Road in Durham.

I agree 110% I love the Tar Heels but I've also grown to love the Vols. No matter what you say, the Vols had the better year in spite of dropping off at the end of the regular season. They deserve the #2 seed. So the Heels beat Dook at Cameron. So what? They also LOST to Dook at the DeanDome. Anybody who follows ACC BBall will tell you that when these two play records and rankings don't mean crap. They hate each other and both manage to play nine miles over their heads when against each other. Carolina (and by the way, not those imposters from Columbia) got red hot toward the end of the season but now it's NCAA time anbd it's anybody's game, no matter what the seeding or pairings. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for a matchup between my 'Heels and my Vols. It would be so great for me to finally watch a game where I can win, no matter what happens. Go Vols and Go Heels! Let's rumble.
