(Vol423 @ Mar 13 said:You're showing a severe lack of knowledge here. Surprisingly enough, UNC does not have a depth problem. They also have a starter this year that won the National Championship last year and contributed significant minutes in that game. Just that ONE guy has more NCAA tournament experience than UT's entire team. UNC will torch Michigan State in the second round.
If you're looking for a team that has severe problems with depth, they hail from down Tobacco Road in Durham.
Yeah, David Noel really lit up that Championship game last year. 20 minutes, 1 point, 3 rebounds. He might have contributed minutes, that is about it.
As for depth this year, yes, they play a lot of guys...a lot of guys that don't do anything! Hansbrough, Noel, and Terry combine for 47 pts, 20 rbs, and 6 assists. The only other guy on that team that does anything is Frasor, as he averages almost 5 assists a game.
As for your last point, about Noel having more tourney experience than the whole UT team...same with anyone at any two bit school that made the field of 64 last year. Going 8 or 9 deep, when all but 3 players don't produce anything is not impressive. Duke goes 7 deep, and all 7 are capable of making big shots at any time.
