hell, From the names I've heard thrown around, my choices would be:

Gruden > Tressel > Patrino > Fulmer > Anyone Else thrown around.

So if we can't get Gruden, Tressel or patrino, Go for Fulmer. I have no doubt he can do the job AND get his wins up to General Neyland levels.

Nothing I wouldn't expect him to say. Of course he'd come back.

he says something very interesting that Hart said also about internal problems and that you can have a good and respected university AND have a good football program.

this is I think the root of all our problems.

Say what you want to. I agree Patrino is a dog. But he wins and he would win here too. I don't want him to be my minister just bring the wins and that's one thing that I guarenter you Patrino would do!

Well, as most expected the man would take the job without hesitation. I think he would take the job for much less than we are offering unproven names who would be a roll of the dice at best. When he said "get my guys back", that leads me to think Chavis would return. 8-10 wins a year may not be the goal in the long term, but it would sure get us back to being competitive and boost recruiting so we would look alot better to a coach 5-6 years down the road. (3 losing seasons in a row). 9 wins and playing in the Outback bowl would be a welcome thing to this Vol fan.

However, going into the hall of fame usually happens after a coach is finished with his career.

I am all for Phil coming back though... at least we can win SEC games with him and KY is not going to be a pushover anymore.

Good guy for sure. I love how it is breaking his heart that the program is struggling versus "Those bastards should have kept me..." I still think it was the right decision to let him go, just because it was painfully obvious he was unwilling to adjust to the new game and he was getting killed for it. Could he learn from his mistakes and modernize his approach? Probably. He's not my favorite candidate, but I do have a boat load of respect for the guy and his attitude.
