Pretty standard, especially for Army.

I'm more amazed at the shear number of photos he took. 23,000 is about the shutter lifetime of a good camera, IIRC. But he was there for 4 years, 35 pics per day.

fortunately, he's not using a merely "good" camera, he's using a Leica M8 digital rangefinder.

the picture of the smoke ring is really cool, in a very surreal way.
