I work on phones (mostly iphones, but some androids as well) and 9.0 so far has been the greatest dichotomy of OS updates I've ever seen. Half the people love it, and the other half of the people are getting completely unresponsive touch screens, outright bricked phones, update freezes, and dozens of issues that apple is either ignoring and telling people to upgrade their phones to fix instead of admitting fault or just denying outright (kinda like the error code for a screwed up home button not downloading updates that they pretend doesn't exist.)

I'm not saying 9.0 beta is bad, the people who it works for love it and it seems to be the best things I've seen in a while from apple. But the people it doesn't work for essentially get nothing but a chunk of metal for apple trying to beta test their software on devices never meant to run it.

Essentially, if you plan to get it, just do what you should be doing anyway with every software update and make for damn sure you back your phone up, cause if you have anything older than a 6, its a decent chance you'll have some issue with it. I've yet to see a phone that a simple restore didn't fix every problem that 9.0b caused.

My 5 only had a couple of slight lag issues. It seemed to work itself out after the .1 update

IOS 8 was a buggy release. This one has been pretty Smooth for me.

Although I've had a problem with the keyboard responding ever since 8. Sometimes it just won't pop up. Mostly it happens in messages. Could be because I use SwiftKey. I have to close the app and reopen. I was hoping that would be fixed in iOS 9 but I'm still having the problem.

I haven't searched this thread for it, but there is something everyone needs to know about the 9 update. It came with a new feature called "wi-fi" assist that automatically switches from a "slow" network to your cell provider. It will catch a lot of people off guard when they've exceeded their bandwidth limit and have higher phone bills. I think you have to go in the "cellular data" section to turn it off.

9.0.2 Just came out IIRC, and it should help a lot of issues.

But in that same vein, I have a customer with a 6 who has an issue with 9.0 not finishing the update. It's finished, but it hasn't actually updated, even though the phone says it has and itunes has finished. I was first under the impression 6's would be fine with handling this OS, but after seeing this one it seems any iphone or ipad has the potential to not work with it.

Apple is just proving once more how great they are at PR control.

My phone is saying "not enough storage" to do backup. Is that a matter of the new update?

Most likely not enough icloud storage. I'd recommend using itunes for all backups honestly. Near unlimited space when compared to the cloud, and you can have multiple backups at once.

You'll have to have the most up to date itunes, but yes. Hook it up and it'll do it itself. I recommend the itunes backup because you can also save multiple copies of the same phone if you save them as different files as well, so you can back up your back up even.
