Iowa voters oust justices who made same-sex marriage legal - CNN.com

It was a unanimous decision between ALL 7 justices of the Iowa Supreme Court. There was no activism.

You gay?

Not that I really care or anything...it's just that, other than Billy Costigan and Tenacious D, it's rare to come across an openly gay poster here at VN.

If Trannys count....add LG to the list.

voters have power - I think California voters made a bad choice too but voters exercising their right it not pissing on democracy; it is the exact opposite

It's funny how peoples views change when power changes!

True, unless the argument is that all 7 were considered being activists on the issue. The 3 in question were the only ones up for retention.

Not making any argument, just clarifying.

No, not gay. I have plenty of gay friends, though.

A lot of people would jump to that conclusion around here because I support gay rights. I support the rights of everyone.

It was more of an image for the churches and out of state money that funded the attack ads against the justices for allowing same sex marriage.

Does that include voting rights?

Sounds like Cali is the place for you. San Fran to be exact.

I guess but at least there's something else keeping the process from going overboard

sure there is. Apparently in Iowa they decided to let voters pick judges who then rule independently. As long as their chosen system was in action here I have no complaints.

Sorry, it might just be me and I really don't care if anyone agrees...

but this is all I see when I read these words.

“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it." “For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it."

then that goes to an uneducated electorate which we'll never fix. I doubt all 7 suddenly changed their stance
