It's not like they're surgically removing shrapnel or something. It basically reads like they put 11 guys in concussion protocol because they were exposed to a loud noise.

Ok. But they were injured. A concussion can easily be worse than shrapnel, depending on the circumstances

I think it's worth the technicality just to avoid red meat for the hawks.

Huh? They are "technically" injured, not technically uninjured, so what are you saying?

Can we call out the admin for having facts wrong or not?

Id like to lock huff and Mick in a room and let them argue until one of them falls over , we could take bets on which one would pass out first from high blood pressure or just lack of oxygen . LOL

Wow, can't believe the Trump admin got the facts wrong on this
You ever had a concussion? Ever been a soldier who has the mindset of "shut up and ruck up" over what they might consider minor injuries at the time? Ever put your life in the hands of military medical folks who aren't specifically trained to look at concussions until the symptoms are so evident they have to deal with it?

Concussion symptoms sometimes won't manifest for days after an event. The President made the announcement less than 24 hours after the attack. A lot of Soldiers would work through what they might think are minor injuries or "I just got shook up" because of an ingrained sense of duty and avoiding the perception they are sandbagging the unit as a whole. Such injuries might not have even been reported for some time afterwards and even then, military medicine isn't the best at diagnosing the problems and toss Motrin at it first and foremost. Furthermore, a lot of those people on that base are Special Operations Forces who work through and deal with pain each and every day because they know the mission has to get done and a little pain isn't going to deter them.

Before you go calling out the President for wrongdoings, you might want to consider and know the source of such people that were injured and whether or not they would actually report such injuries or get treated until way later. Combat ain't a football game where they take your helmet and let you watch from the sidelines with a towel over your head. Soldiers will work through such things until the job is done.

I really don't know what your underlying point is. It's OK for the admin to mislead us if it means the public is less likely to call for retaliation?

Think about this for a second...POTUS decides if he retaliates or not. The public doesn't decide. The idea that a few concussions would be the difference between a clean break and escalation is absolutely absurd. So really, we got false reports for the sake of Trump PR and it has nothing to do with escalation.

You are making a big deal out of nothing..... they said they had concussion type symptoms and were sent to facilities to monitor them. These symptoms could have manifested themselves a few days after the event.....

It wouldn't take long before we agreed on the ignorance and deplorability of Trump and his supporters.

I read your first paragraph in Colonel Nathan Jessup's voice.
