Iraq...forgotten?

I'm pretty sure U-T just got back
I misunderstood when I read his assessment of the IA lying somewhere between what Fox and CNN describe. If his assessment is first hand, I stand corrected. I thought he was using his knowledge from CNN / Fox to refute than given by trUT

It is hard to debate a person who is in the service or has a military background. I feel bad if I disagree about pulling the troops because I myself have never served so I always feel like I have no right to give an opinion.

I have two roommates from my senior year of college who are both field grade SF officers in Iraq and both agree with trUT's assessment of positive change. I struggle to agree with any assessment that says the same ol' same ol' is continuing.

BigPapa, you know damn well the Lib's don't care about reports from the ground. They are hell bent on making this out to be a disaster to get Billary elected.

Our boys and men are doing a fine job, funny, the leftist ACLU guys who kick and scream about the Constitution, are also the last ones willing to give up their pampered lifestyle for 4 years to toe the line and defend it.

I wasn't trying to refute anything he said. He has his educated opinions, I have mine. Many people who serve disagree about many parts of the war though publicly I doubt you will find that out

The Fox/CNN reference wasn't a literal one. I meant it more to show that very rarely will you get an actual educated opinion about the war from ANY media source. Fox has their agenda, CNN had their agenda, etc...a good amount of the time the truth can be found in the middle of both agendas

FYI, I am sure you can ask anyone from here who remembers me...I have been to/from Iraq several times for several different reasons.

My views come from my experiences. Not from the media.

and I meant what I said when I stand corrected. I appreciate that we have people willing to stand in harm's way for this democratic experiment. I, too, am glad you're home.

see the think is with Iraq, its only bad when the demoncrats want to make some kind of point. Right now its inconvinent for them to use, so they kind of leave it alone. Plus these demoncrats act like they have the right answers and stuff, yet their congress has the lowest approval rating in history. way to go Nancy Peloski,,, your a real american zero. Same with hilldog

and why don't you inform me so I'm no longer ignorant...and please don't bother with rehash from CNN, NYT or the networks.

im with you on this one BP. most anti people simply take what they here on the liberal news media and repeat it.

And yet all liberals will say that "most pro-war people simply take what they here on Fox News or the Bush adminstration and repeat it"

Both sides are wrong....as ALWAYS in politics

Go figure

I read somewhere this weekend that the individual cost per a taxpayer for the Iraq war is around 8K.

I don't think Bush has an exit strategy for the White House, much less Iraq.
His exit strategy for Iraq is likely one that you hate - long term presence was the intent from day 1 and it's the only real way to justify the invasion.

His exit from the WH - well, I'm sure it's much how he envisioned it when elected: a full 8 years later. Unfortunately, that speaks volumes of the pile of rubble opposing him for the second term.

If he would have presented it the Congress in that matter, it would not have been approved, and if he would have presented it to the American People in that matter he would have never been relected for a 2nd term IMO.

he's no genius, but he's not completely stupid either

He's a lot smarter than I ever gave him credit for. He knew enough to trust the right people, people who were smart enough to help him do pretty much whatever he wanted, regardless of its legality.
