Here's a story from the local paper. Sounds promising.

One thing about the guy that built the place, he'll make changes if it will help him get what he wants.

Wheldon was even more optimistic.
"They said the track officials wanted our opinions in what we would do to change the track to race here," he said. "Honestly, I don't think they need to change a thing. They said it's too narrow, but it isn't any more narrow than anywhere else we race. It's a beautiful facility. I'm impressed. If it's up to drivers if we race here or not, then I'm all for racing here. Let's do it."

Nice to here that. I know that with loosing Michigan there's another date floating out there.

Last Friday - I received an email from the track about 2 weeks prior to the event.

About 2000 people showed up which likely made an impression on IRL officials (they were pleasantly surprised).
