I used to like and pull for Auburn. I‘ve been a season ticket holder since buzz Peterson days. Loved it when Pearl came and brought us back. Not going to rehash all that went down with that. My question is about this year. He has 3 of the biggest punks on his team. Watching last night against Oklahoma. Cardwell never makes a shot or blocks a shot or does anything without posing and finding the cameras and such. Broome didn’t used to act that way but now he does the same stuff. Baker-Mazarra is the worst of all. He runs his mouth constantly the entire game. Every time he gets fouled he goes down and acts like he’s dying. It’s like watching European soccer. Last night was a perfect example. He had about 4 guys on Oklahoma’s team ready to punch him. After his 3rd or 4th flop as they were running down court with him jabbering in a guy‘s ear, the guy gave him a forearm to the chest. He looked around and when he saw a ref looking he layed down and rolled around on the floor. Comical. They reviewed it and didn’t even call a foul on the guy because the contact was so small. The best part, he got called for a foul a few minutes later and kept running his mouth until the other guy came at him. He laughed and got a technical which fouled him out with about 12 minutes to go. He still stood up and never shut up the whole game. The referees really need to control all the taunting they do. I guess when you have a coach that stands and screams at officials from tipoff to final buzzer it rubs off on you. I just don’t know how anyone could get behind that kind of behavior.

YES! I was watching the game and I had to turn it off. The antics of Auburn was too much for me. Unfortunately, this is happening more and more in sports. Saw it last night at our HS basketball game. A guy from our team dunked on a guy from the other team and then got in his face. He got a T! You just posterized the guy and embarrassed him. Run down the court. Other team made their 2 shots then got the ball and scored 2. Cut our lead down to 2 points with 2 minutes left. We won by 5 but could have cost us the game. And we had to win to stay in the hunt for the region championship. Kids are just too entitled this days!

The answer to the topic is yes they are the most unlikable team in the country. Unfortunately Bruce encourages it with his antics and does nothing about it.

Broome is a great player and doesn’t need to act the way he does. Cardwell is never going to change. I don’t mind him so much since there is a lot of flexing and mugging for the camera these days. But Baker- Mazzara is the worst. It was noted the other day that he should be playing for Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss football since he qualifies as a fainting goat. If they don’t rein him in, he is going to cause a brawl at some point.

Considering how many times Uros would get a T for his antics about 3 or 4 of them would have been ejected last night getting the same whistle.

Baker-Mazara is the worst taunter I've seen in college in quite awhile though.

Cardwell is just trash, dude has played in 150 games and has scored 10 or more just 12 times and 10 or more rebounds only 3 times, at 6'11" playing with Broome and he doesn't seem to do anything but ham it up when he makes his one or two plays a game.

What's crazier to me is all 3 of these idiots are 5 years deep in college...

IMO it’s a direct result of how they were raised! I, like most of you, would have incurred the wrath of my mom and dad immediately had I acted that way in the court or field…possibly having daddy come onto the field and slap me silly!

I’ve seen many kids grow up with a strict upbringing and good parents but went a different direction as adults. I’ve also seen kids with little guidance behave themselves and be humble. Not always as simple as blaming parents, imo.

Of course I said in IMO....but CLEARLY...parenting has a direct effect on the conduct of young adults....with some exceptionals along the way. Worked closely in this area as a career....fairly standard understanding parenting has a MASSIVE influence on the behavior of kids and young adults 🤷‍♂️.

Generally I tend to agree, but how do you resolve the families with 3 children, 2 which turn out great and the other one is completely different?

This is delicious
It feels that way while basking in the success. Enjoy it while it's good because it will change. I don't feel any ill will toward Pearl, so this isn't sour grapes, just a heads-up from a fan base that's been there and got the t-shirt.

Over-the-top Type A's like Bruce just can't help themselves from taking things too far. It's what led to his undoing at UT. It's a shame too because he's a really good coach and an elite promoter. Just not able to stay out of his own way for extended periods of time, especially during success.

The posers among them will soon learn that pride goeth before a fall (emphasis on fall).
Hopefully before tournament time.

Yes. I wanna smack the TV, every time, they raise their jersey and show their imaginary gun. Of course, if I was 20, I would probably like it. But, I haven't been near 20 in over 30 years, so get off my lawn

Part of the antics is the hope of making it as a highlight on ESPN or some other social media platform IMO.

I've said it elsewhere on here recently, my thoughts/feelings on CBM. Don't care for him. Stud talent for the team, but I almost would rather he not even be on the team with his immature antics. His actions last night were pathetic.

Johni Broome...eh, I can understand the hate for him, though I don't find him too terrible.

I won't stand for the Cardwell slander though lol Arguably one of my favorite Auburn players. Genuinely good player and person on/off the court. Showboaty, but in the best way; it's not so much a "hey look at me," but more for the purpose getting the fans more hyped and involved. Guy loves Auburn, loves the people, and loves his teammates. Very social and active with them all off of the court. As a Christian, I remember growing a lot admiration reading his entries during their trip to Israel several summers ago, and how he helped several of his teammates get baptized in the Jordan River. Is he one of the best to play the game at Auburn? Of course not, not even really that close. Following one particular meme/poll thing I've seen lately, he fits squarely in the "Most loved/Average player" spot. Love him though, and will be sad once he's out after this season.

We all have a free will to choose to rebel or be respectable. It can be a sad, long, heartbreaking road. Just recently visited with a friend who had to bury a son at 39 years old. By every metric they are an incredible family. Other children are well respected citizens....the one that died just never wanted to live responsibly..... and it cost him his life.

Auburn fan here. I haven't watched any games this season, I usually just check the score & view a few highlights via the espn app. Anyway, I decided to tune in last night at the exact time CBM pulled his little stunt and was instantly pissed. I don't condone that kind of ********. Even worse, only a few minutes later some other AU player grabs his junk feigning an injury when he was barely touched. I was so disgusted I turned it off and tweeted to Pearl that if this is what he condones, then he is no Auburn man. It isn't enough that they win on talent alone, they have to pull this disingenuous bs. Seeing them humbled greatly wouldn't bother me in the least.

Eh, I don't think Denver was feigning anything. A kick to the nards is gonna be uncomfortable, even if it wasn't full contact. Refs called it correctly though, as it was incidental contact.

Dude, you are no AU fan if any of this is true. You’re just an angry old man.
