Got this from an AU alum:

One more thing- bama OC leaving after NSD. Lance is spilling the beans to all of their recruits!

So I looked on tidefans and found a thread titled "Lance Thompson spreading rumors to recruits that CJM is leaving Bama"..... I tried to look but it has been locked by the mods.

Has anyone else heard this?

its on Rivals as a rumor that he's out after NSD because he cant work for CNS. The last straw was supposedly that CNS had all the assistants stay still almost 11pm on Christmas eve.

Another reason why Satan fits so well with him :the_finger:

Saban will just keep things rolling though. Bama is going to be strong for years to come.

Here is my question. Why is everyone giving Saban soooo much credit? Why are we thinking he will keep it rolling? He went 6-6 in his first year while losing to ULM at home. THey had a good year this year but the SEC was down and luckily for them they got off to good starts in the first half to win games. IMO I am not sold on this guy yet. One good year. Congrats. I bet they win 8 games next year. 9 with a bowl. TOPS. I wouldn't be suprised to see them only win 7. Ole Miss, TN, LSU, VT, SC, AUB could all beat them next year IMO. They do not have a QB who has played so I see them maybe winning 8, maybe.

If this turns out to be true. That would be quite a few coaches saban has gone through in a little over two years. Kind of comfirms what we already know, saban's a joy to work for. The money he pays recruits must be good, because there is no way he is selling them on his personality.

His personality with recruits is probably quite different from that with his employees. But eventually, the churn of assistants will affect recruiting.

He won a NC at LSU, how can you not be sold on him?

I'm sure he turns on the charm for them. I guess some are just more gullible than others, or the dollars cloud their judgement.

Didn't we discuss this on another thread shortly before or after the hiring of Thompson? Just curious cause it seems familiar.

Saban is a good coach don't get me wrong. I meant that I'm not sold on him at AL. Sorry about that.

Before Saban/First Year With Saban

Toledo 6-5 / 9-3
LSU 3-8 / 8-4

Took over Michigan State which was on probation and by the fifth year they were 9-2.

I don't like Saban, but I can't argue with his results. He can win anywhere. He understands the game and he knows how to build a college team.

In his first season wth the Dolphins, they reeled off six straight wins to go from 3-7 to 9-7. He is an elite coach that can turn programs around, he just happens to be very unlikeable.

Saban losing another coach is not a surprise.
The only one that mattered to me was Thompson.

I love it. I hope CLT is spilling the beans. So much for program stability. Come on Trent Richardson!

This is no big deal. Saban loses tons of staff members, but he replaces them, and knows when they're leaving. It's like how he had cut off a lot of Steeles duties this year, because he knew he was going to be getting better offers. No one is concerned about who their replacements will be really

Fulmer won a NC here, glad Kiffen is here now.

People underestimate what JPW did for them.
Not a great QB (but leaves with records); but can McElroy or Star Jackson lead the team as well?

I think the Tide fans are still acting like they are 12-0 during recruiting, etc.

Who cares. Go. Don't go. Hide in your office. I'll venture to say after both he and saban get a well-deserved ass kicking from Kiffin an Co. this year, and our defense eats them alive, he'll wish he was sharing a coffin with his pal bear.
