IS BEASLEY HURT

I have been down on Beasley more than anyone on this board. But an honest opinion on Beasley after the season started is he is the most improved player on the team. Your opinion on him has to be based off of last season because it's totally wrong based on this years games.

It’s a tie between Beasley and Omari Thomas as to who is more improved.

Our entire LB class is avg at best.

Banks should have been called with roughing the passer that would have been brutal if called.
Reds were lettin em play I don’t mind it. We also got a way with the chomp and throat slash. Been a long time since we’ve had calls like that go our way

IMO the PFF grades were extremely accurate this week. I think their grading system penalizes our OL because of how we coach our guys, but otherwise I thought PFF did a good job.

Keyton had like a 60. His catch, difficulty and timing, was worth an 80 alone. I realize they aren’t viewing it like that. But I do. One of the greatest catches ever made considering how badly it was needed and the difficulty level.

If the linebackers and commitments who bailed out when Heupel was hired were still here, Banks and Beasley would be backups and Mitchell would never have come. The DC is playing with a short deck at several positions right now, but especially at LB. I think the Vols' current LBs are doing their best but they are, as a group, a bit too slow and indecisive, particularly in coverage. I expect to see a big step forward when the newer recruits start to assert themselves. When they do, the DC will look so much smarter. Go Vols!

Keyton was 68.9 which is a good receiver grade. PFF grades every play, every route so one fantastic catch isn't going to get you to 80. I don't think I've seen a TN receiver ever get an 80.

No he shouldn't have been called for that. The call was correct a no call. Nothing wrong with taking the QB down especially if your within a step or the act of tackling when the ball is thrown. Tackle was fundamentally sound and was clean. Refs were right there and didn't disagree.

Out of curiosity, did AR get by with a handful of grounding calls. TV is much better at viewing that sort of thing. He appeared on 4 or 5 occasions to sling the ball when pressured with no receiver in the nearest zip code, and still inside the tackle box. Also a handful of guys hit out of bounds with no flags. Refs did tend to let them play. I thought both teams played fairly clean, minimal cheap shots.

I was there and officiating was bizarrely poor in the 4th quarter. Totally agree with you about the obvious intentional grounding no-calls.

He had 14 tackles 6 solos against your Kentucky team last year.

Unfortunately he's right. The way Kentucky ran the football a LB should've had at least 20 tackles. I think Beasley is improved but he functions best as a blitzer and that's how they used him against Pitt. He has issues disengaging from blockers and drifts in the wrong gap which compromises gap integrity. However I've said before we get average play from the position in general. They are playing Mitchell more and more. He held the spot before he got hurt.

I'm watching the replay right now and he's around the ball constantly.
Usually right after someone else makes a play, he shows up. No way he had more than 1 or 2 solo tackles. I can remember one of them, 10 yards down the field and the guy was running out of bounds anyway. lol

Big O by a long shot. He blew up one of the 4th down stops by taking two blocks. He's playing really good.
O did what he wanted with that oline. I agree, he's playing very good. I thought all of our interior lineman played well really. Terry and Eason both had quality snaps.

And it's more difficult for a DT to have impressive plays - a big part of the DT job is to eat up blockers and hold the line of scrimmage while LBs and safeties make tackles. Big O is exacly what we needed at DT this year. We just need a few more - I think most of our DTs are upper classmen.

What game were you watching? I saw him put numerous hard hits on Florida players.
Now if he will just hit the ones with the ball, were on to something. Lol. Sorry but I haven't seen anything from him. Mitchell has been credited with 4 tackles in the last 2 games. Beasley has 26 total and 4 against Florida in limited time because Mitchell played most of the game. In comparison, Banks has 12 total tackles in the last 2 games. Facts don't lie. Now then, what game have you been watching??

Slow down tito, damn....lol!

Yes, it was def based off last season, but calling him the most improved over some dude that plays wr with the last name Hyatt is taking it way way too far!
