why would Phil retire from a team like the Lakers, and go to a team like NY? doesnt make sense imo. if he wanted to coach, it would be in LA with the team he has won multiple titles with. Melo is NOT Kobe Bryant.

Because he played for the Knicks and likes the challenge of bringing starts together.

I'm as torn as I was the last time Cal to NYK was tossed around. I want Cal out of college basketball, but I also like the Knicks and thus don't want this guy.

Cal is not going back to the NBA. Where are people getting this foolish info. He has more job security at UK than he would in the NBA. He would be the first to tell you.

You assume too much. He'll be unhireable in the NCAA once the UK run is over.

I think these rumors may be starting to pick up. Word on the street says Calipari is already telling Free Agents that Tom Thibodeau has cancer.

year in year out same story - he'll leave eventually but it won't be for lack of money or for some better job security that's for sure.

Probably because he played there and because it's New York..JMO..If you've never been there it's hard to describe..But the Knicks have been so bad for so long I would think Jackson would be revered forever in the largest city in America if he brought a championship to the Big Apple...Again, JMO..BTW, whoever said Carmelo Anthony is Kobe Bryant??

I think Cal will be back in the league sooner than later and the Knicks might just be the one team to pull him from UK. I hope he goes
