Is Fulkerson injured?

I’ve noticed the past few games where he’s moved a lot slower.

Seems like a lot of his aggressiveness just disappeared from last year.

I do remember him having COVID but not sure that’s the reason.
He's seemingly always injured. Better to start asking if he's healthy enough to play.

Refs weren’t going to let him get going yesterday, but otherwise it looks like injuries have been holding him back.
I didn't see the first fouls that were called on him but the fourth one was a text book charge. No way Fulky should have gotten charged with a foul there.

If Fulk comes back, next year and plays like he did last year, he will cement himself as a Vols basketball legend. I think he is just a folk legend, right now, but a 6th year return to Glory, it would be a beautiful thing.

But right now, it's time for the Keon and Jaden Show. Fulk and the rest of the rotation are the sidekicks, now. Hopefully James and Pons continue their upswing as the guys that do the dirty work, with about 25 points a game from that combo, as we go forward, in the season. I really feel like UT, especially the freshmen, turned a corner, last night and the offense is about to improve, greatly.

Glad we have Georgia next, too. I think we blow them out and carry this momentum that Ole Miss effed up

You could have left this off and had a real good post.

I think Folty is just not strong enough ... to handle the constant banging inside ..we lack a true big body inside and will be our downfall .. we are not physical inside ..we are on perimeter but not inside guys .. I think he is just banged up .. and gets pushed around .. but his effort is always gonna be there but when you are banged up its hard to move as quick .. im sure his whole body hurts the way he plays ..all out .. hes a trooper but he needs to get stronger but kinda late for that .. his big issue is he cut his hair ( Samson ) .. now he lost his strength ...

. A lot going on with Fulky that is out of his control...
(1). He does not have the body type to put on weight or much muscle. He can eat and work out religiously (I’m sure he does) but his body will not allow much change to occur. He is an ectomorph, (2) He gets physically beaten up in the post every game. The scout is out on him. Get physical with him. Bump him. Push him. Get into his body when he tries to defend. He cannot handle it - but not for lack of effort. (3). He is constantly injured because of how hard he tries to play and #2 above. (4). You cannot grow bigger or stronger during the season. Basketball is such a grind and burns so many calories, At best you try to maintain, but that is almost impossible. (5) He may be suffering the lingering effects of Covid. (6) He is/was now the focus of the opponent’s game planning...
Early in the season his lack of explosiveness and quickness were evident. It was also noticeable that he struggled to run the court. If you just focus on him it is painful to watch...
He gives it all he has - but the tank is empty, banged up, and possibly sick...

There were two times this year that I can remember off of the top of my head where Fulk went down hard and I thought he was gonna have season ending injuries. He fell down really hard on his wrist @ Mizzou I believe? Then I forget what game it was be he went up for a dunk or something and fell down really awkward and I thought he he tore an ACL but got back up and was able to play. He's been taking a beating all year.

If Jaden and Keon keep playing like they have been it'll take a lot of focus off of Pons and Fulk which should help them out.

If you read the forum the last few days then you probably believe Fulky has been swallowed by an elephant and shat off a cliff. Yeah, he may be a little banged up like most everyone else at this stage of the season but has anyone considered that he may just not be playing very good basketball?

He isn’t playing very good basketball. That isn’t debatable. The cause of which is the issue at hand. I’m sorry, but you can’t convince me that a guy who could go into Rupp and put 27 and 6 on Nick Richards and EJ Montgomery and the following year go for 0 and 3 against a much worse UK team isn’t suffering from something a little bigger than just playing bad basketball.

The refs took him out of that game mentally, last Saturday, but he looks like a shell of his former self. He lacks stamina, strength, lift, etc. Something else is off.

Sometimes playets just get in a funk and play bad. It happens. When confidence is lost it's hard to get it back. I have noticed from the beginning of the season that he seems to be winded easy so it could be a health issue but nothing has been made public. He still has flashes of good play so I hope he rediscovers his game.

Yeah, HIPPA makes the idea of public release difficult.

It could just as likely be that he hit a hot stretch of play at the end of last year and that was his ceiling. We see plenty of players at the collegiate and professional levels be one year wonders, or go on a 10 or 15 game tear, and never duplicate that success for one reason or another. I said at the beginning of the season this team needed an alpha and everyone that disagreed said "we have Fulky for that". I never viewed him that way and always saw him as a solid college player but nothing more. Honestly if he wasn't a fun loving, goofy, local kid the fans would be much harsher on him and his play.

You should go back 3 years ago, even less, and see what people said.
