Felt the same way. I'd never heard Griner speak before this past weekend, and that's a man-type voice for sure. I think there have been questions about this before she ever got to Baylor, so she probably is female. I'm with you in that she's got a crazy gene combination.

Like a science experiment gone wrong or something!

I, for one, have heard much more manly sounding girls... I think people predispose themselves to believe her voice is more manly than it is when they hear it, based on her manly physique. It's a little masculine, but if I heard it on the radio, I would just think it was any other female bball player, I think.

Granted, I've only heard one TV interview, so maybe I'm remembering it wrong. I just thought I remembered hearing a tiny bit of femininity to it.

I'm thinking he's a man. This past weekend is the first time I ever heard her speak. Did anybody notice his Adams apple ?

If any guy had that "Adam's apple," we would make fun of them and call them girly. It's pretty subdued.

NCAA should chromosome test athletes. Not just Griner, but all female athletes. It's all in the fairness of competition. Personally, I'm not sure Griner would pass, but if she did, then I'd stop questioning her gender. She/he does come across manly to me.

I sure wouldn't. Aint the only reason Parker went pro is because she had already finished up her school work? Pretty sure Grinner hasn't set out or anything and it would be sooo dumb to jump to the WNBA without finishing your degree. She would make a ton more money overseas though.

Didn't Parker redshirt her first year because of injury?

I wonder if there's a provision in the 8,000-page NCAA rule book which could require her to test? If I was an opposing coach, I'd consider challenging her eligibility.
