7-1. Beat florida and Bama and OU. Not too shabby so far. Scheme problems? What plays would you have called against a soft cover 4 to get 292 yds in the air and 181 on the ground? Not including 3 big dropped passes.I wouldn't say they are a bad team, yet, but definitely mediocre. Consider this.........if everyone is available on the starting roster for Ky and UT the talent level is not equal. Now, consider that Ky was without TEN starters by the end of the game. This is NOT a good team. With a roster depleted like that a good team would have won by four or five touchdowns at least. Every game is a struggle. Can't even score most of the time. Game after game after game is a struggle. Good teams will not struggle like that. They will not.
The Oklahoma fans tell me this is what cost Josh his job at Oklahoma. Had all kinds of talent but the offense, continually, struggled. They see that same pattern carrying on here. Talent but no results with it. Scheme problems.......I don't know but haven't seen an offensive team that won't produce like this one in quite a while.
Before I saw your post I was going to say, what if college football isn’t very good this year . Meaning there’s no one that is dominant. Outside of Gabriel, Cam Ward and Sanders QB play isn’t that good. There are only 2 contenders that are getting consistently very good QB play. The good news for us is that Nico is trending in the right direction and had played very good football the last 6 quarters. If we can get a little more help from the line and the WRs we have a chance to do something pretty great. We just have to stop getting in our own way. There is no dominant team in the SEC or CFB this season. If our offense can get in sync we can win it all
My only issue with saying Oregon is they're like our spirit cousins or something. There's always one team that no matter how bad they are , finds a way to knock UO off their game and beat them . It's usually one of the Arizona teams , or Stanford. If they don't implode to Washington , then I'll be a believer , but not until then.Double D... the only one I see close to dominant is the Ducks.....
12 spots and you think Tenn isn't one of the best amongst the teams currently ranked 1-12?We‘re not bad but I don’t think we’re really a playoff caliber team. Of course we won’t turn it down if we get invited but I take great satisfaction in our wins over Bama and Florida. And if we can somehow muster a win against Georgia I’d be more excited about having beat the evil three in the same season than making the playoffs
at this point, unless its constructive criticism, it's just band wagon fans with low football IQ spouting off.Are people extremely deluded into thinking we are a “bad” football team.. We’ve only lost 1 game. College football this year is rivaling the 2007 chaos year and we have ONE loss. Are there improvements to be made? Absolutely. The last 2 games we left 21-28 points off the board because of execution. I’m seeing fans just trash every player and coach already and it’s pretty damn frustrating. I hate to say it, but it’s just plain ungrateful considering where we were just 3 years ago.
I don’t know, maybe I’m just gullible. I see potential for this team to get clicking and we see some real greatness.

At this point you have to place the offensive woes right at the feet of the coach's. The talent is there so there really is no excuse for week end week out mediocrity, especially with bonehead predictable play calling.I keep telling people "if they put it all together." Problem is they haven't.
Every week there's a thread on here talking about "feels like a breakout game for the offense." We're 8 games in y'all. This is who we are. We're good enough to find ways to win close games, and I'm not complaining, but the reality is:
- We're undisciplined. Over 100 yards of critical penalties almost every game.
- The offense cannot get out of its own way. Dropped balls, turnovers, patchy o-line play, and some pretty putrid play calling at times.
- Defense holds, but showed some seriously troubling stuff tonight against a miserably bad UK offense. Scrambling around before the ball is snapped, out of position, tackling, etc.
- Field goals are now a big ask, and that's going to hurt in these defensive games when our offense stalls in the red zone 50%+ of the time.
Georgia can roll us if we play like we did tonight down there. And I hate to say it, but Vanderbilt can beat us too. Absolutely have to lock in and tighten that stuff up. It's all fixable, but we don't seem to be able to fix it. A lot of the issues above have stayed the same, some have even become more prominent.
We are what we are. This being a one loss team is crazy. Just goes to show what solid line play and a weak schedule can do for a program. Give this team Florida's schedule, and I'd wager we have more than one loss. Are people extremely deluded into thinking we are a “bad” football team.. We’ve only lost 1 game. They just look 2 steps faster than anybody they play.....My only issue with saying Oregon is they're like our spirit cousins or something.
