It mostly has to do with QB play. That one position can make such a difference in a team's win/loss record. Butch said at Media Day that QB would be a "strength" of this team. Now after a few practices, we are getting the same subpar play. If QB was good for us (not just naming a starter out of the 3) then we would all feel very different. Lots more talent around them, but they HAVE to step up.

Mostly because a starting QB has yet to emerge. I think we tend to (perhaps irrationally) think "oh $h!t they all still equally suck"

a starting qb has emerged. folks just aren't paying attention to the signs because it isn't who they want it to be.

hint: 1 guy is 3 classes ahead and is failing to distance himself. been on campus way longer, yet continues to have the very same issues he had when he got to knoxville.
