Is it more important to win now or develop for the future

Is it more important to win now at all costs or develop players for the SEC schedule and beyond?

Winning is the only metric coaches are measured by to advance their career. If Heup doesn't win, he won't be here. Nor will he be able to recruit 4 and 5 star players. 2023 & 2024 look very promising. We need a quality QB. I don't see Milton leading this team to 9 or 10 wins next year.

Broadly speaking, I think both winning and player development take equal priority. If you focus on winning now and ignore the players that will be around next year, you run the risk of them not being ready to step into bigger roles when needed or they might transfer. Ignore winning, and it will hurt team morale and likely lead to transfers and lack of interest from recruits. It needs to be balanced, but that starts with recruiting the right player mix for your team.

I have seen a couple of names of quarterbacks announcing they are transferring. One is Cade Mcnamara from Michigan, and one is from Texas, don't remember his name. Also saw where four players at A&M have announced they will be transferring, one is a former 5 star running back. Wouldn't hurt to kick the tires on some of these guys.

it’s a viscous cycle if you can’t get it under control.

Players usually develop in the off season and in practice. They don't have to be in games to develop during the season. I see a lot of our players needing mental development instead of physical development. Decision making in basketball is huge and were starting to get there at least in the last three games decisions have improved.

She definitely should shorten the bench against top 10 teams but figuring out those proven 10 is where the turmoil starts caribu .
