Is it OK if we never wear these uniforms ever again?

They are the same as the bad showing and bad luck we've had over the years with the Orange pants. look like baby puke.

The worst. Chill with the alts. The classic orange and white is really hard to beat and the grays certainly don't do that.

Agree. Tennessee doesn’t need to wear alternates 2 or 3 times a year. We have one of the strongest brands in college athletics. Own it.

That said, we’re obviously going to wear alternates at times. The dark mode on Halloween weekend is cool. And if we’re gonna wear Smokies, wear the one from last year in Baton Rouge. Those were perfect. The ones yesterday looked like some of the garbage Adidas would design. The best thing about yesterday’s is that they wore them against Austin Peay, not an SEC game.

Just be Tennessee.

If we're going to do any alts, can we please keep it simple. I liked last year because other than pulling out the Butch Jone era grays, all the uniforms were the same template just different colors. I.e. the black uniforms were the same as the orange and white. If we're keeping the SG's just make them the same template as the other uniforms.

Also with those versions yesterday, I actually thought the helmets looked bad. It's a great helmet but because it goes from darker gray to light at the top, it made the helmet look like it didn't match the uniform and the added orange on the shoulders just made the shades look way off imo. Yesterday's uniforms are some of the worst UT football uniforms I've ever seen live.

Agree with all of that. The light grey helmets with those uniforms just looked weird. And as for 2022, I liked that version of smokey grey the best and that we wore them on the road. I liked that we wore the dark modes on Halloween against Kentucky (and not against a major opponent). I did not like the orange helmet vs. SC. Don't ever want to see that again.

I've accepted that we'll wear alternates, so if we are, wear them at the right time/against he right opponents and make them look sharp. But honestly, I wish we would just wear orange over white at home and then wear either all white or white over orange on the road....with traditional white helmets every game.

I like the blacks. I can be done with the smokeys.

I'm OK with the orange helmets, tbh. I font blame the helmets.

And just once, can we wear orange against Bama in crimson?

Nailed it with the Adidas comparison. They look very much like those abominations from years past that absolutely screamed Adidas when you saw them. Like a bunch of stuff from an early 90’s episode of Saved by the Bell.

Don’t get me wrong, I am usually a fan of alternates, but that one last night was a huge miss. Then the game happened and well, I don’t ever want to see them again.

How about instead of making a fashion statement, why don't we just concentrate on playing football. Take look at all the perennial powers. How many of them have gimmicky uniforms?

Honestly, I didn't like the overall color combination of those unis yesterday and hope we never use that again. Just not appealing to me. Don't mind mixing black and orange as dark mode combo is very cool. Let's stick with orange/white combo for a while til Halloween time rolls around.

I wouldn't mind if we quit blaming the uniforms on the poor performance. Our poor performance had a lot to do with it. Hell, the refs had much more of an impact than the uniforms did. The uniforms, not running through the T, and everything else that doesn't have a direct impact on a players performance is nothing but superstition.

I've heard it was to replicate the uniforms the Vols wore when Condredge Holloway was playing. I was a student then and remember that we hated them. That's why they quickly disappeared. Adding the smokey gray hasn't improved them. I hope I never see them again.

Honestly, I think they trotted the unis out for this game a couple of reasons.
1- almost a guaranteed win, so wear them and be successful
2- I have a feeling lot of the team was looking past AP and the unis helped bring some focus back to this game

Imagine if 2 is right and we didn't weather them?

Look like a bunch of bumblebees out there buzzing around on the field. Get rid of those things and who came up with the battleship gray helmets geez.
