He inherited an NCAAT team at UT; credit to Pearl for being the coach they needed but that season showed me just how terrible Buzz Peterson was.

Pearl is not an Auburn kind of guy. That place is out in the sticks. My friends who are Auburn alumni say he talks about Tennessee all the time and would come back here in a heartbeat. I just don't think his heart is in the Auburn job.

Thats why I thought a Memphis opening might be a landing spot for him..would be bad for us..he would lock down that area

I could see him in a Memphis type operation. He is a heck of a coach. I think his resume is strong enough to overcome the baggage for a program with loose morals.

Uhhhh the FedEx owner is diehard Memphis basketball fan and mega booster. There may be reasons Memphis wouldn't hire Pearl. $10 million isnt one of them.

The way Pearl recruits Auburn has nothing to worry about. I don't see Barnes out lasting pearl if his recruiting doesn't improve dramatically.
